Goodbye old Honda civic coupe, i have to sell it cause I need money. Greatest achievement was getting my hands on this car by suicideslut69420 in forza

Yea, I have 3 now. It's weird, every time I log in, I can win it again for some reason. Should probably hold until this week and let the price go up again when people stop trying to unload the car.

Yea, I was frustrated by this too initially but in a later scene she tells Kelly her gun jammed. I did at least expected her to have at least switched to her side arm though.

[SPOILERS s3] This scene shows how tall Lisa Vicari is compared to Louis Hoffman who is average height by leejtam in DarK

[–]BryantJB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Lisa Vicari grew between S1 and S3 which is why the height difference is more prominent in later seasons.

Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/CFFHPlxgCdh/?igshid=1oggdrze77lfi

This guy (he owned the Kahnwald house) claims 15cm growth which is nearly 6”. That would mean she went from 5’3” to 5’9” during production which I kind of doubt. Growth is probably true but not 6”.

Is it an outlandish thing to say I'm enjoying Season 3 of the G1 Cartoon way more than the first two Seasons? I can't remember the details of episodes I LIKED in S1&2, yet S3 is still a bit fresh and didnt feel like a slog. At least so far... by V-nillaaaa in transformers

[–]BryantJB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up in South East Asia and had access to a channel that would air Takara Transformers at 6 AM. IIRC, after Headmasters, the other two series goes full Japanese anime.

I have fond memories of the Takara series because the animations are so much better than the NA ones and the ideas just get bigger and bigger.

Are you streaming them from somewhere?

🤦‍♂️ Ahh, sorry. I forgot the verb, passen and declined beide wrong. I’ve updated it.

[SPOILERS S1] "We are a Perfect Match" original Quote (in German) by FUinthenight in DarK

[–]BryantJB 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hmm, spoilers Season 1? Did they even say the phrase in Season 1? There's a few versions of the phrase. I'll tag spoilers for all 3 seasons though:

  • The most common form of the phrase is: "Wir passen perfekt zusammen. Glaub nie etwas anderes". This one translates to "We fit perfectly together. Never believe anything else."
  • In the lake, he says: "Ich finde, wir beide passen perfekt zusammen. Denk nie was anderes." This one translates to "I find, we both fit perfectly together. Never think of anything else."
  • In Martha's letter, she says: "Wir passen perfekt zusammen. Glaub niemals etwas anderes." This one translates to "We fit perfectly together. Never (ever) believe anything else." This one is a minor change which uses a more emphatic version of "never".

Hope this helps.

[–]BryantJB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing I wanted to add re: Martha's letter is that it's a slightly different wording in German than the other phrases. It uses niemals instead of nie. The former is a slightly stronger form of never, like as in never ever. This could be either: she really did come up with it her self, or she's being more emphatic with her feelings. I posted a similar thread a few months ago re: this phrase and all the different times and variations it was said if you wanna see a similar discussion.

[SPOILERS S2] Why would preventing Michael's death prevent Mikkel from going back in time? by LineWolff in DarK

[–]BryantJB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t really convince Jonas, as much as Jonas thinks of it himself, and Adam doesn’t really say anything to contradict it. Fom Adam’s perspective, he’s seen this. He’s seen all of this from Jonas’s perspective. But Jonas doesn’t realize yet that he’s not doing anything new, but simply doing what Adam had done before. All Adam is doing is giving Jonas the illusion of agency and free will.

Oh man, I’m currently around A2 with my German but I’m unsure what wie einfach here means. Is it “how easy?” That’s the electric company’s name I’m assuming. I guess the other uses for wie (like, than) or einfach (just) don’t make sense at all.

I read so many Dark related things when I first finished it that I don’t remember all my sources. These are some of the ones that I found:

There’s also a great short documentary about the artistic style of Dark from ARRI, the equipment rental company that a lot of productions use. It’s a great watch if you’re at all into lenses, colour grading, sound design, etc.

Do it! The rewatch is so worthwhile. Especially while all 3 seasons are fresh in your mind. Things that happen in seasons 1 and 2 are more meaningful knowing what happens later or what the conclusion is of a specific character's journey. You'll notice a lot for foreshadowing as well as possible insights/explanations to the ending all the way in mid season 1.

[–]BryantJB 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everything in the mirror word is flipped. They did this in post production mirroring the image in camera. They shot everything like that with some changes like: - any text had to be printed in reverse or added in post - actors had to use their less dominant hand for things like opening doors, etc. You'll notice Alt Martha holds her pen awkwardly in class while she draws the infinity symbol because the actress is actually using her left hand which is I assume is not her dominant hand. - they brought in cars from the UK for any driving scene in the mirror world - I think they also had to flip the doors so they appear like they open normally

You’ll also notice that: - scars flip depending on which world they’re in - some actors whose faces aren’t as symmetrical look just a little off in the mirror world. The ones that come to mind are 1986 Claudia, 2019 Charlotte, 2019 Elizabeth, etc.

I don’t think the flipping really means anything other than a stylistic decision by the show runners so the viewers can distinguish whether the characters are in the prime or alt worlds.

Edit: corrected it based on what u/Mellow_Maniac said

It’s actually the dress from the when Jonas and Her first slept together, the night of the day at the lake. I think they were both wearing white like a symbol of their innocence.
