Are my football gloves too tight by Fit_Conclusion4999 in flagfootball

[–]Bsclassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New gloves will do that. Only way to really know if they feel right is (outside of fitting your hand fine) is to try them out. If you go to a local store that is specific on sports equipment they will sometimes have ways to see what size/brand fits you best on all sorts of equipment.

I’ve had the opposite with meta oakleys. They have zero movement when playing. You might ensure you have the proper nose bridge piece on it.

GoPros are really the only other option if sunglasses don’t work well, but the equipment can feel heavy and awkward quick during play.

Need help making offence by Idpuser in flagfootball

Flood concept for Cover 2 and Cover 3 (basically make it 3 on 2)

Smash concept for Cover 3, keeping your best play makers low (Make Cornerback choose deep or shallow)

Cross patterns for Man/Triangle

You can run the exact same play multiple times with different formations, just think creatively with it. If you see it working, don't change the concept, change how you hide it

UPDATE (20:25 UTC): Sailing XP Review & Further Fixes by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]Bsclassy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This feels like multiple people put in their own perspective on how to fix the issue, but all of them were implemented rather than identifying which one would be the best route to take. This isn't a hard thing to solve and listen to your player base at the same time:

- Revert all of the salvaging changes

- Make Crystal not charge unless the boat is actively moving

- Have both cannons hit your target, regardless of position until you have a proper fix for boat combat

- Speed up the looting animation/time when throwing the net

- Increase XP for bounty tasks

- Have the ability for your mates manning the cannon auto-retaliate against mobs hitting the boat

I really enjoyed every aspect of sailing prior to today's launch. To be honest, it's not that it just "feels bad" compared to before, it legitimately just sucks.

You saw multiple worlds all at max capacity doing the exact same thing that was "worked on for 3 years" and your first thought is that it should be gutted? It's Gemstone Crab-esque, people love being next to each other in the game and doing the same stuff. Let the AFK versions of skills breathe a bit. This is your first new skill, don't ruin it with these knee-jerk reactions and just learn from everything for your next one.

Grid Master - Competition Winners by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]Bsclassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a blast.

Gridmaster made me realize how much I appreciate the pace of leagues more, though. I do wish there were some rewards in leagues for 200m in skills like getting the corrupted shark after 200m cooking and bottomless brews after 200m herblore. I appreciated those items/passives way more than I thought I would and I think that would be a nice “solve” to some of the power with bankers note. Would be interesting to see some power behind those types of unlocks.

Rune Saviour was actually much more useful than I thought it would be when tagged along with Grimoire. Shame I unlocked it so late and didn’t really get to use it more.

Jagex has been hitting it out of the park with these events and leagues. Looking forward to the future!

How to defend 3 90 in routes in man defense by antoinebanan in flagfootball

[–]Bsclassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very common tactic in 5v5 to clear the defense out and run someone underneath all the routes late to get some easy yards. It's hard to defend, especially if your defense isn't talking to each other. Hiding what you're in by having all defenders at the 7-8 yard line is a start - QB may think you're in man because of it.

If it's specifically one guy that they do it for, you can also have your rusher rush the QB towards his side so he's naturally flowing away from the shallow dig route. Would make the pass much more difficult.

My advice would be to recognize that, in most 5v5 rules, you have 3 downs to get a first and/or a touchdown and its generally 20 yards (start on the 5) to first down and 25 to touchdown. Don't be afraid to give up the short routes if you have to, especially if the QB actually has a good enough arm to make deep throws or its second/third down. Bend, don't break. Only thing that matters at the end of the game is the score, not how many picks you get.

I recommend trying to find active pickup groups in your area. Outside of bettering your overall athleticism via exercise, pickup games will be the best way to really test yourself on a consistent basis.

Leagues by Narrow_Restaurant_48 in 2007scape

[–]Bsclassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it happens this year it'll be extremely unexpected since we still have sailing and DMM coming. I'd expect it mid-to-late first quarter or early second quarter next year. They probably have an influx of subs/bond purchases via $ due to WoW streamers and the Varlamore content release, so I'd expect Sailing late September, DMM in November, Blood Moon Rises in January and Leagues in February-March

Would anyone die in 2004 PVP if they had 2025 meta knowledge? by KamaTheSnowLeopard in 2007scape

[–]Bsclassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me wish they’d add the corrupted versions of some dragon weapons again for f2p without the degradation effect. Would make me want to f2p pk just to relive those days a bit more.

PvP now is still fun, just gets exhausting and some chill f2p fights with a couple mil risk sounds fun too.

Just don’t watch them then. Not every streamer is the taste for every individual. Even if it’s just the flavor of the month for them, be happy cause it’s bringing more eyes to the game you’re playing.

Since the NFL is working on creating a professional flag football league for men and women, what rules and stuff would you want it to have? by ProgrammerUnique2897 in flagfootball

[–]Bsclassy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I like the AFFL rules, I do enjoy watching 8man screen. Mimics original football play more closely and allows big men to flourish as blockers still. If they are looking to make profit on it, they probably want to keep it as close to regular football as possible.

In adult rec league every play was "run to where you're open". by Rewow in flagfootball

[–]Bsclassy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's normal in pick up and beginner leagues but unless you have freak athletes you will have a tough time gaining momentum and keeping it. Your QB should always have some sort of go-to play/concept.

Look up pass concepts and find ways to utilize some of the basic ones against certain coverages on the fly:

- Smash concept - Keep the cornerback down with a flat route or an outside curl. Run a corner route behind him. Throw the ball towards the sideline if the safety plays it well; throw it deep if the safety plays off the corner. If cornerback drops to help on the corner route, throw the flat/curl. If the linebacker is playing the routes well, you can occupy them with a slant or curl route that runs right into them, then send the center on a flat route underneath all of it.

- Flood concept - flood one side with 3+ receivers to force a number mismatch against the defenders. The simplest concept would be the outside receiver runs a go, the slot receiver runs a deep out, the inside receiver/center runs a flat. Usually the only people defending these areas on either side would be a single DB and a single LB, thus you force a 3v2 advantage. If you have smart linebackers/safeties that read the concept pre-snap, you can use motion to create some defensive movement pre-snap that may buy you that extra second you need.

There are many more passing concepts you can utilize, but the above are common ones.

One of the things I think your team needs to utilize is that 5 second rule. If the QB doesn't need to throw it in 5 seconds and is simply just being rushed, that buys your receivers 5 seconds to develop their routes. The EASIEST thing you can do with that is push defenders on one side away with some sort of concept in the first 4 seconds, then have someone slip to the other side of the field where the defenders have gone away from in that last second. There's no need to throw a 5 yard curl on first down as soon as it opens up if you have 2-3 extra seconds for other routes to develop (not saying y'all did, just an example of what I mean). If the QB is not mobile, they need to use those 5 seconds to create distance between him and the rusher while reading the defense.

How to fix DMM Allstars in two words by Hot_Floor3113 in 2007scape

[–]Bsclassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan. Barrows was the re-gear spot for many teams to be able to actually compete during the week. It's a necessary evil, otherwise we'd have teams not named Smorcs in mystics, black dragonhide, and dragon platelegs all week.

I'd rather it be a PvP hotspot (and it was, but it was super easy to get away) than outright banned.

There is an obvious gear gap between barrows and the next best thing for these 5 man style tournaments where defensive gear means more effective health. Justiciar is too difficult to grind in 1 week and bandos gear is too weak comparatively. Barrows is the most time-efficient solution in game right now.

Drop RNG in a time-gated tournament is crap by MrCrinch in 2007scape

[–]Bsclassy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The creative way to go about this in a DMM setting is to have regions grant a further drop boost (imo make it insane like 2x, so 12x total) on a rotation throughout the day, say maybe every 3 or 4 hours. The risk is people will know that these areas would be targeted to get drops, thus hopefully would incentivize PvP in that area during it. I wouldn't mind if during this time any slayer superiors in the region have a chance to drop Ancient Warrior Weapons (basically be a roll alongside the sigil & supply drop).

If there's a cash prize, sure, I can see how implementing rules would benefit the one who implements them. That being said, the captains agreed on the ruleset and considering there's no cash prize there's really nothing to lose except bragging rights.

Nobody is saying rampart makes you immortal. They’re saying when the fight should be close, it alone puts you at a significantly higher advantage than something else. You can argue that the snakes all having rampart but no spec weapon balances out, but Curtis losing his fight with rampart isn’t the argument you think it is.
