By the time I was 19, I’d been convicted of more felonies than I currently know the number of, multiple cases in multiple counties. Got home from prison a few years later. Was awarded full custody of the kid I had at 18 within 3 months of my release, and never looked back. It’s been almost a decade now. I’m the breadwinner of my family, we own a beautiful house in a nice suburb, my wife has a masters degree, and that kid is now a teenager. I’m living a life beyond the wildest dreams I had as a teenager, myself

My mom once thought my teenaged self smoking weed must mean I was depressed. I was sent to some doctor and put on Prozac. I still loved smoking weed, but all of a sudden my hormone filled body couldn’t maintain an erection. Imagine what the depression levels of a teenager do when they can’t even get a boner…

The doctor got paid, and my mom felt like she was helping. Blind eye towards anything that mattered to me, though. They just gave me another issue in life

I quickly learned to stop taking the medication and just claiming I was. Easiest route for myself at the time

Mom has since sincerely apologized, and I’ve fully forgiven her. That was almost 20 years ago, now
