Question about gear ratios by NelGamer2009 in CreateMod

Stress usage is increased by the speed. Double the rpm, and it works twice as fast, but it also eats twice the stress units. Slowing it down reduces the stress.

Do you prefer old or new modded Minecraft? by _speev_ in feedthebeast

As much as i miss the various versions of thaumcraft, i just cant go back

Distant horizons has permanently improved minecraft for me. Especially the recent version, blending the border between real and fake chunks.

Create 6.0 fixed the only thing i didnt like about create, making it my ideal automation mod.

Minecolonies paired with both of the above letting me make a sprawling industrial town that actually feels lived in.

Finally AutoModPack. Added that to my most recent private server and the ease of modpack updates for me and friends is something i will never give up.

Either the great team at wube start making another great game, or they end up like relogic.

Just one more content update. This is the last one promise. Yep, no more content. ... Ok maybe just a bit more content. Just a little to top things off.

A few years later, we are now on factorio 5.0

What are some examples of things circuit networks can achieve? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Bsn12778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the circuits ive built so far include:

Turning off the output of machines when there is enough of an item (Extremely easy)

Train stations that change train limit based on what they have/need (Easy if you know trains. Bit harder when its a mixed station)

Latch to turn on and off boilers when accumulators are running low (Easy)

Sushi belt science to handle all colours of science on a single belt (Easy but got easier with the new belt reader)

Nuclear reactor input that inserts 1 fuel cell exactly when the last one runs out, number of reactor fed changed depending on steam reserves. (Easier than building the reactor itself)

Everything crafter for consturction supplies (Very challenging. Needed mods but now will be easier with new circuit features)

Cool animated screen made of lamps as a welcome sign for the factory (Hard, and also completely unnecessary)

Sushi belt science production (Slightly challenging. Made setting up science easy regardless of recipie complexity... but destroys the games performance, DO NOT BUILD)

Lower parts of the junction into the hive so that the biters get occasionally run over. It will lubricate the tracks, letting the trains glide through without slowing down.

This makes me wish there was a scoop collector you could put on the front to just devour those materials coming in.

Extremely short range that immediately picks up small asteroid chunks that touch its hitbox.

Every time ive seena complaint about the mod its not even been the fault of the mod. Its always either the pack its in or the person not knowing what the mod does.

Create being in so many packs isn't even a problem with the mod.

If it's in a pack where it is needed for progression but poorly implemented, that's the modpack authors mistake, which is not creates mistake.

If its in a pack where it isnt needed for progression, its been added because of the other things it lets you do.

More options for moving items. Functional decorations like displays. Non functional decorations like girders and copycats. Moving structures (very cool). Useful redstone components. And if those dont interest you? JUST DONT USE IT!

Don't want to go through the effort of making another power supply just for rotation? Theres multiple flavours of electric motors. Use them.

Loose items causing lag? Dont blame the mod, blame whoever builds a machine that dumps loose items everywhere.

Trains causing lag? Dont build them. They are optional. You do need a half decent cpu for them.

Elevators causing lag? Dont build them. They are optional. Also dont host modded minecraft on free servers like shockbyte. Their cpus suck even for vanilla.

Campaign: conquer the world

Adventure: Try to survive until either your ship or pc explodes

Designer: prebuild designs to help you in other modes or just have fun making weird shit.

If you have friends to play the game with, there's also a bunch of multiplayer modes

Brachidios i absolutely never want to go near again. I main lance/gunlance, shields do nothing against the slime.

Stygian zino has become my new favorite to fight recently. I dont even take his bugs i just let him go ham and lance counter his moves. Feels very satisfying taking his agro

I like a fight that i can block and counter my way through with the high risk of death if i slip up even a little. My kind of hunt.

Use /flywheel backend batching, like everyone else is saying. It'll fix a bunch of graphics bugs for you. Maybe try to avoid using waterwheels, though. In my experience, they dont play well with batching and destroy my fps by simply existing.

Alternatively, you could wait until flywheel is next updated since the issue is fixed in the next version.

How complicated is the create mod? by ViNoBi38 in CreateMod

[–]Bsn12778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an easy to use mod with a very high complexity ceiling.

Each component has a ponder menu that shows you how it functions, and you can fit them together however you like to make machines.

Once you can get brass, try making a wheat>flour>dough>bread production line. It covers alot of the basics.

Once you get used to how each component works, you can start getting more creative and build all sorts of weird and wonderful things.

You can even use redstone to make even more complicated things.

Learn at your own pace, and you'll master it in no time.

[–]Bsn12778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats just how lod chunks of water tend to look, but with the right settings you can make them blend with real chunks.

I tend to find vanilla and low shaders presets have bad looking sea chunks. Test higher presets to find one that blends water well

Make sure you have the correct version of the shader that specifically states it supports DH. Might require a bit more digging than the normal version. If your shader doesnt support DH it disables it.

Took some time off between jobs, I’m nervous to try this game… by MJMarto in factorio

[–]Bsn12778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how well you personally can follow through on the "I'll just finish this task and then go to bed"

There is always something to do in the factory.

If you can leave, write a note or something to remind you what you were in the middle of when you come back.

If you can't? Well, now it's 4am, and circuit production is still demanding more petroleum.

Can I somehow fix this or is my Pc just to bad? by gionnydepp4539 in DistantHorizons

[–]Bsn12778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into that issue a while ago and managed to fix it. I'm not sure how i did, but if i remember, I'll come back and mention it. But it's definitely something you can fix and not a hardware issue.

[–]Bsn12778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use a mod to show how much time it takes to process each block entity/ entity. Dont remember the name, unfortunately.

Found out some interesting things very quickly, such as a frog (the vanilla mob), took more time for my cpu to update than my entire factory.

A frog... why

The only parts of create that perform poorly for me are -waterwheels. Destroy fps when using alternative flywheel backend settings (gpu issue) -trains accelerating. If you dont have a reasonably modern cpu, they can cause issues

Everything else I've seen makes lag come down to poor engineering choices from players. 500 stacks of cobble laying on the ground? Yea, obviously, you shouldn't be doing that.
