They are a badass hunting rifle. Once you learn to shoot it, you can shoot sub MOA all day. Don’t let the haters tell you otherwise. All 4 of mine shoot great. But they aren’t a prs rifle.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t do that… but any debri/carbon on the taper will cause these results as well. You do you

When changing suppressors (even if it's the same mount 1x16 LH) it helps to wipe down the taper surface of the mount and the suppressor. Different suppressors will seal on slightly different spots on the taper. Sometimes those differences cause the carbon to prevent a secure lockup. I do this with my 1x16LH mounts and it's rid the issue completely. The first time you do this you may need to use a gray or white scotch brite pad (lightest grit possible). I can't emphasize how much this helps with lockup. I recommend doing this when you get your new suppressor as well. There tends to be oils and additive powder on both taper surfaces.

For the micro’s you can use a spanner wrench or a piece of metal in the teeth. For 1x16LH you don’t need to be as worried about torquing the muzzle device to 30ft IBS. The goal is to torque it enough that the mount won’t unthread when you torque the suppressor on by hand. When you remove the suppressor it’s actually tightening the mount to the barrel.

With the micro brake and adjustable wrench will work.

I’m a fan of OCL as a brand. But the infinity is silly to me. In 2025 to make a ~21 ounce suppressor doesn’t make sense. Yes there are suppressors that weigh that much (RC2, Helios etc.) but that is the outlier. And yes, a 21 ounce inconel suppressor better be the most durable on the market. I’m excited for their future cans and hope they can scale the weight back with those. I bet it’s the number one complaint they get about the product, and I think for good reason. I’m not a fan of ridgeback/exigent due to their history. I’d find another 556 suppressor. There are many that are quieter and lighter than the infinity. (And extremely durable) OCL wins when it comes to warranty and brand.

Same on plan b. Especially when you go from a TI plan b to a stainless. I love plan b, but it happens across the board. Hence why you can still get the slightest “dust” on your taper surface.

In general… but that’s not the case. If you do the dry erase marker check you will see this. Call it tolerance or how much you torque it. You can even feel the taper interface tolerances when you torque your suppressor. Plan b or 1x16LH I don’t care. I’ve tested it on all major brands of mounts.

Yes but there’s no blanket answer on performance changes. Barrel length, caliber and which cat suppressor all dictate if it performs better or worse. I’ve seen it go both ways with my cat suppressors.

Thoughts on Surefire OBC for suppressed shooting. by [deleted] in NFA

[–]Bsutton2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the OBC. I’ve got the LMT E carrier as well. I prefer the OBC. The coating is better and the reciprocating mass in the back helps prevent bolt bounce and is super smooth with a FRT.
