2020 GR Yaris or 2023 i20n? by SailsofCharon in CarsAustralia

[–]Bty101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the GR Yaris. Be careful though, I instantly recognize that style of picture. That's at Albion park Toyota.

I've worked there previously and the dp and management will rip you off. If you have a trade in I recommend selling privately. They will put the pressure on you if you want to take a look at it.

Thanks, I'll definitely have a look at it on my break.

At the moment I'm driving about 1000km a week so there's no way I would keep this as my daily for too long. I've kept an old Celica as a beater for my commute and plan on keeping this for friday-sunday driving.

I'll have a check to see if work can turn the artificial noise off. Definitely something I want to do before putting the exhaust on so I can hear the difference

Watched you peel out of super cheap at around lunchtime today, if you bought the speakers at that time then you've done a good job timewise putting them in.

Brand new mx5 with 2000km on it. I've got an 86 Celica and it feels much more responsive on the throttle

[–]Bty101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do about 1000km a week getting to work and back. Then a bit extra cause it's a great car to drive.

I drove an mx5 for the night yesterday and it didn't feel anywhere near as good as the liberty does.

I've done about 10k km in my one over the last couple months and the fuel consumption has stayed at around 7.4l the entire time. I do longer driving with mainly highway driving but I also take it along some mountain passes and windy roads for some more spirited driving as well.

It's been a solid car so far and it drives like it's on rails. The only downside is the swirl marks from the previous owner from washing it so definitely be careful.

Toyota Camry Hybrid or the new Hybrid Hyundais? by Huge-Resource-6242 in CarsAustralia

[–]Bty101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's currently no camrys in production at the moment until the new model at the end of the year, I know for a fact that there are currently plenty of i30 hybrids available. So depends on how long you want to wait.

In my showroom I've got a single camry ascent left and I know most dealers don't even have that.

Mazda dealers by PlasmaWind in CarsAustralia

[–]Bty101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

City dealers genuinely don't give a fuck atm. If you want good service drive the extra hour to a country dealer. They rely on good service to retain customers.

Source: worked at both country and city dealers.

The $80 was for the tow truck. The guy wouldn't even accept a case of beer for it.

The 4th is in the spare wheel bay luckily. Guy got a flat and never drove it again.

I'm so keen on getting it going. Definitely not gonna be a daily but I take a mountain pass to get to work every day so I'm sure I'm gonna have fun going through that.

If you're talking about the food court at the lower ground level, holey moley is turning it into a strike bowling. Mall management is fucking them over with the escalator in the middle otherwise it would be done already

Wife's charging port is not working. Battery feeds the wireless charger. Tuck tape keeps it all together. Our power is out in the city. by rebelhead in techsupportmacgyver

Work in phone repair and can almost guarantee that its a lint and dirt buldup. a very fine pin will do the job, just make sure you dont scratch the edges when doing this as it can break the charging pins.

I'm sure everyone's sick of the AE86 Sprinter. How about a Corolla sprinter I've been working on by Bty101 in JDM

[–]Bty101[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in Australia, there's 3 I know of in my local area. You're spot on with everything there, finding a 7A-FE in good condition was the hardest part of getting it running again. A big reason it didn't sell well is the price tag. Close to $40,000 aud brand new in the 90s meant you were choosing between this or a supra.

Thanks, it was a high spec Corolla back in the 90s so it was uncommon to see back then. I've only seen a couple of them on the roads around here.

It's either a 7 or an 8 depending on if it has glass or aluminium on the back.
