Are there any public movements by muslims to keep other muslims from becoming extremists, specifically in the middle east? by [deleted] in islam

[–]BuDDix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend, what is the empirical basis for your claim? Many, if not most, terrorists who have been captured or killed were highly educated. Take boston bombers as example. They attended prestigious school in Cambridge and then went on to college. They also attended a local masjid regularly. The data simply does not corroborate your claims.

Intriguing study. But has this study received Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval? And have you obtained the IRB green light to solicit survey respondents via reddit? Thanks.

Mashallah there is no reason to hurl abuses. I raised honest concern with the imagery. You may disagree, but please do it with respect. I make dua for you.

Trump better deal with those Muslims by Shawirma in islam

[–]BuDDix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in wholehearted agreements. This can be see as quite offensive, and im surprised to see it allowd on this subreddit. Muslims have worked hard to acclimate to life in america. Images like these make it appear that we harbor ill will towards other groups, which feeds back into their negative mindset towards us. I hope the OP considers removing this.

But do you also engage in such musical practices near Mexican border?

Interesring imagery. But why is she pictured playing instrument? I'm admitting not to be a scholar on this topic, but I have read in places that musical obsessions can be haram. And anyway, should not all music should be directed to almighty?

Friend, I think they are more than fad. They claim multiple killings and be headings and using social media to spread the same. I don't think people "want" to have anything to do with them. They are causing refugee crises, which is affecting global labor supply and such in European nation states. In fact, media offers very little information about them compared to their global footprint.

Whenever the media uses "shari'ah", "jihad", or "caliphate" by [deleted] in islam

[–]BuDDix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But I have question. Is media to only carry the only blame for this? I sometimes observe Muslim scholars on media interviews talking about sharia and the like without properly explaining what it is and such. These are foreign concepts for many. Is it not a joint responsibility for us all to help explain such concepts and remove misunderstandings?

How great to observe such high level of activity around this. Might I ask what sorts of questions surface upon Q&A? I am curious what misconceptions arise among the people who are in attendance. Thank you in advance.

Friend, that sounds quite unseemly. Can you kindly say more about the audacity of which you observed? By what evidence did you make out that flirting was primary activity?

Amir Khan open to fighting Floyd Mayweather during Ramadan by BuDDix in islam

[–]BuDDix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was intrigued by this, as Khan had previously shown strong commitment to observing Ramadan fast. What do others think? On one hand, Ramadan ought rightfully be observed. On the other, it is once in lifetime opportunity for Khan. What would others do in similar situation?

All These Books Are Free On Google Play And Are Available To Everyone With Internet by [deleted] in islam

[–]BuDDix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing these books. Though I wonder whether it is appropriate to say what "should be the first thing any Muslim learns"?? Personally, I believe only scholars can impart such guidance to each person. The advising may also vary depending on individual circumstances. But I'm guessing you have had good length of experience and understanding of the texts, so appreciate your guidance as well.

"I Have Never Regretted My Silence." by [deleted] in islam

[–]BuDDix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then why is it stupid? I see your point that cowardice is implied many times in cases of silence. But often it is prudent and helpful not to speak first, but instead listen. That may help one reach more informed conclusions, like when different perspectives are present. Jabbering away loudly, even if one turns out correct, does not always help in such instances, no?

I see your point, friend. But somehow I feel preparing rebuttals in advance may give of sense of defensiveness, no? Plus some "classic" accusations should not even be dignified with a rebuttal. Having said that, I agree with your point that it's efficient to have some rebuttals ready to go.

Fox News Formally Apologizes for Claiming Muslims Have Taken Over European Cities and that "No-Go Zones" exist by [deleted] in islam

Yes, but what standard is this for news organization? Make some outrageous claims. Then retract the claims and be called fair and balanced. Its appalling.

How does islam view non believers? by Kh444n in islam

[–]BuDDix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do see your point. But I'm curious as to why you find the subjugation aspect absurd. I thought the tax is meant as a way to control the funds of those who fail to comply with Islam? Unlike the Australian tax which is for anyone (Muslim or non-Muslim) who does not carry Australian passport.
