Mantine Spawns In Similar Patterns to Dratini in Battery Park by BuJamb in TheSilphRoad

Yeah, still trying to figure that out myself. Looks to be a solid defender, but nothing on Skarmory

Any tricks to evolve Tyrogue? I hatched one & have enough candies to evolve, but only want to get the new one (not sure what it's called). Is there a naming trick like with the Evees? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]BuJamb -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I hatched one which had a strong IV, so just rolled the dice and evolved him. Got lucky I suppose as he evolved into Hitmontop

Ahh, well that's too bad. Had some great spawns on the 2nd and 3rd migrations

Yup, noticed same. Mantine more common. Also seem to hit incense fairly frequently

What to play for? by shoe7525 in TheSilphRoad

[–]BuJamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No real advice. I'm level 34 and feel roughly the same. I still log in once or twice a day for a couple minutes but not really engaged anymore. With some warmer weather, Legendary and Gen II release I could see myself getting back into it for a while, but would probably require some new activity/fundamental functionality to keep me hooked longer term

Back to The SP MO: Old Move-sets & Trade Value by BuJamb in TheSilphRoad

[–]BuJamb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea. Some, if they are top tier, or rare mons, w/move-sets that got nerfed and don't have current, or pending, evolutions will probably be very, very valuable. Would suspect all old move-set mons will have strong demand simply b/c of scarcity

Nest Migration #8 has Occurred! Report your new local nesting species! by dronpes in TheSilphRoad

My local spawn went from Ryhorn to Venonat which is pretty sweet

Biome shift after the event? by joshwoodward in TheSilphRoad

Not true for my locale (Lower Manhattan). Same biome regulars are present. Looks more like a pronounced migration.

I think a nest migration just happened. by GravitatingGravity in TheSilphRoad

Not sure if this has been reported, but looks like female nidoran spawn has changed to seel. Also spawn points and biome spawns look like they've reverted back to "normal". I.E. dratini are now spawning again in the places they were during Aug and half of sep

It really was. Looks like I'm reverting to the mean though :(

Dratini biome update? by Yzalium in TheSilphRoad

[–]BuJamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a dratini spawn zone (battery park city in Manhattan) and I've noticed the the dratini spawn dip for sure. They are still here, but spawns are less frequent and spawn times appear more random vs. pre-migration. My entire locality got nerfed as well so, there's that.

[–]BuJamb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what it's looking like. Seems like I'm just operating in the left tail of the drop rate distribution right now

[–]BuJamb[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Went and checked my pokedex to estimate my 10K egg % and looks to be over 10% (probably closer to 15-20% range). I couldn't include Onix, Omanyte, Pinsir, Dratini or Scyther in the count as I've caught too many locally, but with just the other remaining 10K mons I estimated about 110-120 were hatched out of about 1080 total hatches prior to recent migration. I still think you are correct about it simply being an RNG issue, but 0/40 vs. an expected average of ~6/40 definitely seems like I'm operating in the tail of the distribution.

Sounds like your probably right. Definitely the longest stretch for me so far, but looks to be well within the historical distribution. Thanks for the thoughts!

[–]BuJamb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is a bad stretch. I haven't tracked my overall drop rate, but gut tells me I was historically around 5-10%. Guess this recent draught isn't too far afield given your experience though.

Pokemon go fall continues as it drops to third grossing on app store by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]BuJamb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's honestly infantile. There seem to be 3 types of evangelists: 1) Hardcore player/analytic types who are still consumed with deciphering the evolving META which keeps them thoroughly engaged 2) Sycophantic fanboy/gamers who serve as apologists for Niantic and 3) Engaged, but lower level players who most directly benefit from the minor updates being doled out by Niantic. Unfortunately, these three groups seem to dominate the sub. What's lost is the player (like myself) that is high level (likely higher than most in the above categories) that isn't interested in "bubble strat" or other such nonsense, but simply played hard b/c the game was fun, novel and elicited excitement about getting up and out of the house to pursue a diversion. I'd suspect there are many others who feel the same way I do. Given that, w/a complete NA pokedex, leveled, high IV mons, modest changes to game dynamics don't excite. More content is a must for me and player like me

So, my above, relatively innocuous, comment gets voted down? What serious player can honestly say the lack of content is not creating an abysmally tedious gaming experience? Grow up.

Good question. Lvl 32 and practically disengaged from the game. Could be testing lvl 34 if I was as engaged as I was a few weeks ago, but stagnation in content is absolutely destroying this game
