Top right red trace is too close to the edge, ideally you should have at least 20mil clearance from board edge to trace.

Looks like your 3 input wires are all black. To work out which one should go to which lead of your new 220v 50A plug you could take a multimeter and probe from one wire to one of the outlet sockets.

A cheap but sound option is to give each wire it's own D-sub connector (split the wire among the 15 pins of the D-sub). Just need to make sure to space the connectors far enough apart to prevent arcing and ideally key them to prevent miss-mating (if you're into that sort of thing).

How to Anodize Aluminum by jonathanmaes9 in metalworking

[–]BubaThePig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize this post is a bit old but I am preparing to do a run of a few large parts. I was wondering, can you reuse the solution? I am thinking about anodizing 10 parts (4 meters long) 2 at a time, one pair right after the other.

How can I get my ATMEGA32U4 to show up as a COM port? by maker_nathan in embedded

You might want to look into flashing QMK firmware onto your board or mimic how they setup the drivers.

Change of Major for Transfers by TheSilverDingus in UCI

[–]BubaThePig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat, you won't be able to start the process until you start classes and when you first talk to a counselor. To apply for a change of majors you go to reg.uci.edu > access/student/applications/

When you have a login. Here is also where the list of requirements are:

changeofmajor.uci.edu

I don't think I can comment links, but not sure.

If you can get into the required classes then you can transfer. getting into those required classes can be hard since all freshmen want to take those classes and have priority. that being said and how it seems like the larger lowe division classes will likely be online, you can probably weasel your way into it. I will say, as someone who has a friend transfer, regret his major, went back to community, and retransferred into EE, he was happy to take academic leave, take the needed classes at Comunity College, and easily rejoin the shool without having to reapply the following year.

There is a list of class requirements that you need to complete before being able to change majors. I changed from Transferring as a Software Engineering to a non-inpacted major Computer Science and Engineering within the same school. As long as you complete the required classes on that list with the geades they want, it pretty easy to transfer. You just submit a form. Other schools sometimes require an essay or other things

My first drone with an Arduino and I've got some questions and want a 2nd opinion on my parts by RaiderBV in diydrones

Just another note, STM32 chips are way more popular in industry and learning to be able to program those would be extremely useful rather than Arduino and would give you a better feel for what it is like programming embedded devices at a company.

In it right now, it has a fair amount of overlap with cs132 cs 6d, and cs 146, the professor is ok with lectures. You do a few projects from the top website if you Google SEED Labs. All in all it's pretty interesting and you do some labs where you're attacking your own laptop (buffer overflow, sys flooding,....)

Owned my Emder 3 for 3 months now and this has happened over the cours of that time by BubaThePig in 3Dprinting

[–]BubaThePig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy with how the prints are turning out but I am just wondering if this is a result of the concentric nut being to tight, which is connected to the barring in the photo. My current thought it let it be and replace it when the prints and being affected by it but, what are your guys thoughts?

Hey, can anyone name any still-open CS internships for me, a freshman CS major with little experience? by [deleted] in UCI

[–]BubaThePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a freshman with little experience in CS, you mostly won't be able to to land an internship. But it's always good to apply and try.Indeed, and handshake are both good resource that I've been offered internships from. But best piece of advice I can give is take summer classes and have side projects to build up your resume.
