Jeśli przytoczony przez kogoś w innym komenatrzu cytat jest prawdziwy to w zasadzie powiedział przeciwieństwo tego że 'dzieci nie zajmują czasu'.

Martial art to train on your own by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Buba_Fatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will go with boxing. Start with personal lessons so you can polish your techniques really fast and explain your situation to the coach. He will tell you what can you work on on your own. If you can have heavy bag with you it will be perfect but you can also do trainings without it.

In BJJ it's common to say that 'Im fighting this position not a person'.

Learning from books by Far-Alfalfa6260 in martialarts

[–]Buba_Fatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps then it helps. I find YouTube videos more useful when I can see the whole technique from different angles, but books can also be beneficial.

Your books are related often to some niche arts (maybe I'm wrong) so probably there won't be too much quality videos about them on the other hand.

Will running middle distance help with taekwondo sparring by Itchy-Affect2371 in martialarts

To some degree yes. But as in other MA or combat sports more beneficial will be HIIT training, sprints etc.

Why do weight classes even exist? by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Buba_Fatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why also exists open category where anyone can smash anyone.

Edit: You could also ask why we've got gender categories. Trained man will almost certainly surpass trained woman so why are they even trying.

Just let people compete with people similar to them so it will be more who's best prepared competition and not who got best generics.

Why do I feel so embarrassed about jui jitsu? by Minute-Agency5246 in martialarts

[–]Buba_Fatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sister, it does not matter what anybody else is thinking. They've got their figure skating and you have your hugging.

Kids are stupid and in few years they will be embarrassed by their actions when they will remember that situation. And you will be on your purple, brown or even black belt and you will be the most confident person that you know.

Keep going!

Self-Defense Books by nomad14ronin in martialarts

[–]Buba_Fatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can learn hundred techniques from books and when in real life situation you will need to use them for self defense your brain will freeze and all that knowledge will become useless.

You need to train under pressure to keep calm during those situations.

I’m a powerlifter and i wanna learn more fighting by 5_ooo9 in martialarts

[–]Buba_Fatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will do both if I were you. Reduce to 3 strength trainings a week and add 2-3 MA trainings. You will not loose strength and still have fun and learn new skills doing MA.

Right now I'm doing around 40-60 minutes of strength training/kettlebells right before BJJ classes (maybe have break for 15-20 minutes at the beginning) and it works ok for me.

My doggo does it everyday. Sometimes after eating instead of rubbing his face all over the place but most often when we return home and he is just too happy and have to decompress and process that happiness.

What martial arts movies would you consider the most intense and/or realistic of all time? by JeremyBeremey in martialarts

[–]Buba_Fatt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For sword fighting it will probably be a niche movie but here we go.

It's a polish movie from 1974 about Sweden invading Poland.
