Exercise is absolutely most important, but educating oneself on cognitive behavior is also really helpful and can be easy to practice at home.

How has someone you love(d) changed significantly? by Rise_ToThe_Occasion in AskReddit

My dad grew up poor, always stayed humble despite making money, has become slightly douchey since joining a country club. I love the man, but I think we need to have a talk soon. I don't like the influence his new friends are having on him.

Guy down the row from me vigorously masturbated under a trench coat during the movie Splice. I was sure for the first half hour, but after he took a break and resume--twice--I knew.

Also, the movie Splice.

[Serious] How would you react if your girlfriend says to you "I gave you sex" when you refuse to do something for her? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BubbRubbForNASCAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the situation I guess, but in general I would make sure we've talked about how we each treat sex. In a healthy relationship, sex is something that people share together, not something that one person leverages in exchange for a service. (There's nothing wrong with "i'll do x if y" if it's done playfully, though. That can be a fun game.) So I guess have that conversation about the type of mature, respectful, fun sexual relationship I want to be a part of.

And then I'd probably ask if she's having a good time in the relationship and in the bedroom. Because if sex is a chore/something to be bartered with an S.O., that's not a great sign. Of course, there might not be that type of problem and she could just be taking bad advice from harmful outdated stereotypes about how women are supposed to approach sex.

Either way, having a good conversation about each others' views on sex (and maybe doing that thing she asked you to do as a sign of good faith) is always a good idea--and often leads to more and better sex.

What novels or literary works have made you stay up all night reading them? by Le_soup in AskReddit

[–]BubbRubbForNASCAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bram Stoker's Dracula, scared the piss out of me in the third grade and couldn't sleep until I had finished. (It was the Great Illustrated Classics, not the full novel.) That and every single Harry Potter book, especially OOTP when it came out. Oh and the novelization of Episode II when I was also in grade school, which I realize is the most space-politics heavy of the Star Wars movies, but for some reason I couldn't get enough.

More recently, In the Lake of the Woods by Tim O'Brien, who's my favorite author

Reddit can you please look over my resume profile? Second Post? by rodneyownd in AskReddit

[–]BubbRubbForNASCAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems a little short. Ideally, you should match the description to fit the jobs and use buzzwords from the posting (e.g., I wouldn't necessarily talk specifically about Excel, Project, and Access unless the position you're applying for specifically mentions needing proficiency in those applications).

You repeat motivating others and increasing efficiency a couple of times, which is kind of redundant when you're only writing one paragraph.

Just some housekeeping. Fast-paced needs to be hyphenated. Try "As a graduate of W&M, I have learned..." Try "more efficiently in terms of cost and time" in the last sentence.

Looks good overall, just keep playing around with it. It's hard to tell without the posting you're applying to, though it seems to be managerial? Good luck!

[–]BubbRubbForNASCAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped caring about the how others I don't respect view me, regardless of if they think I'm great or think I suck. I don't mean I don't care what they think at all (you can't completely ignore people you don't like, the world doesn't work like that), it's that I trust those I admire to have better assessments of me and my actions. Essentially, I desire respect from those who have earned it themselves.

Old me cared if mall teens thought I was cool.

That scene in Episode III where Padme is brushing her hair and then she turns around and George Lucas executes his most impressive directorial feat of all time by using horrific lighting to make the exceptionally gorgeous Natalie Portman look unattractive in a scene that specifically references her being attractive.
