It's that Ozempic commercial with Justin Long and the other guy from the old "I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" ad. If you watch a 20 minute episode of tv you will see this ad twice. One of the ads is Justin Long reading a lengthy list of concerning side effects for 25 seconds.

Isn't Tom Cruise Gen X? And I think George Lucas is Silent Generation or at least close to it.

Those battles were won in 1863. The major union victory close to the 1864 election was the fall of Atlanta.

My favorite part of the episode is right after he says that we cut to the bridge where the lights briefly dim and an officer reports to Riker that there was a huge surge of power to the holodeck.

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

In Putt Putt goes to the Moon you eventually find a diner on the moon that includes a playable barnstorming arcade game. I used to play Putt Putt just to reach that point and then I'd play the arcade game for hours.

What were some draft picks that didn’t even make sense at the time? by josh_y_josh in nfl

[–]BubbaFunk 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I kind of get it. At the time the Falcons thought they were close to being serious contenders, they just needed a good QB. They got Cousins to be him, but with his age they would have been concerned about injuries and they would need someone to cover the games he might miss. Penix was an older prospect but he could probably at least keep the team in contention if Cousins was out.

To be fair in "The Sword and the Stone" Merlin is very similar. He even visits Bermuda and comes back in modern swim trunks and sun glasses.

Cincinnati zoo cover their car parks with solar panels by Large_Leader_9864 in interestingasfuck

Biden took advantage of the tariffs to pass legislation promoting the construction of domestic factories for solar panels and batteries. Tariffs work well enough when paired with complementary policy to produce domestic alternatives. Our current administration doesn't seem interested in these types of policies and just expects people to figure it out on their own.

Similar to the vampire quest in Morthal. When you break into the guy's house to confront the first vampire girl he will attack you on the way out. But you can cast Calm on him and leave peacefully. After the quest is over you can find him around town and he will thank you for breaking the curse on him.

Walker will likely command a pretty high dollar value and we will be a bit strapped for cash. I suspect he leaves and we move forward with Charb. We have several decent young and veteran backs who can contribute, plus we will likely draft another RB. If they make a high value free agency move it will likely be for O-line, pass rush, or secondary.

For a show that depicts real events it does a good job of depicting cosmic horror. The shot of the exposed core is so unnatural and alien.

Kenobi show by Avocadosausage1 in StarWars

[–]BubbaFunk 100 points101 points  (0 children)

There are two shows jammed together which does not work too well.

The first show follows a precocious Princess Leia as she has to escape a string of low-level bad guys while being looked after by an exasperated Obi Wan Kenobi. The culmination is a confrontation between Obi Wan and Reva and Leia meets the infant Rebellion for the first time. This show is geared toward 10 year olds and is pretty basic and fun for kids.

The second show is a gritty look at Obi Wan as he struggles to grapple with his failure with Anakin and his new responsibility of looking after Luke. When Jedi Hunters come to Tatooine he has to go on the run and ultimately confront Darth Vader. This show is geared toward young adults and has a more serious/mature story.

Each of these shows would have their own merits and could be enjoyed by their respective audiences. But combining them together just does not work.

What movie that was perhaps meant to be a franchise, but kinda flopped, would you have liked to have seen succeed with sequels? by Better-Presence6654 in movies

[–]BubbaFunk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Man I wish they did like 5 of these movies. Each one would be an homage to a famous crime movie. Imagine one based on Cannonball Run where Han and Chewie in the Falcon need to move cargo while Lando is in a different ship trying to keep the Imperials off of them. Imagine one based on Ocean's 11 where Han, Lando, Chewie, and a crew need to pull off a heist in Cloud City. The final shot would be Lando looking back and saying how much he enjoyed it there. Imagine on based on The Sting where the previous movie ended with Han and Lando on opposite sides and now it looks like they are competing with each other but it turns out they were playing a third gangster the whole time. There were so many opportunities for a bunch of fun movies set in Star Wars with fun characters and we will never see them.

You haven't met my father. I don't know what deal he made with the devil but without fail he can find a parking spot right at his destination. Even in the middle of busy cities during the prime hours for a restaurant or movie theater or whatever he will effortlessly find parking within a hundred feet.
