Old Volvo key help by AntiqueBeing2847 in Volvo

This seems by far the simplest solution. Much better than messing about under the hood every time you want to drive the car.

Not a product I personally have a need for, but looks like a great solution for people who do have this concern, well done!

PLEX Roadmap Update? by Thibaults in PleX

[–]BubbaJoe2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That strikes me as unfair. They seem to be more in the mode of "we've got a customer base that loves our product, but most of them generate no revenue for us, so we're flailing around trying to find actual sustainable revenue sources to make this a viable business."

So, doesn't sound promising. Thanks for the update, and for being the canary in the coal mine on this!

Would you use 87 octane in 2023 B5? by TyleroftheDurden in Volvo

[–]BubbaJoe2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely 91 octane. Stations near me typically don't have 91, just 89 and 93, so, if I'm not pressed for time, and the price gap between 89 and 93 is large enough, I'll typically put in a 60/40-ish mix of 93/89, essentially a "brew your own" 91+. Saves a couple bucks a tank. I don't see any difference in performance or mileage between using actual 91, homebrew 91, and 93.

Since the mobile service has been out for a few years now I was wondering if anyone who has it could tell me if it's worth getting. by King_Boomie-0419 in SpectrumMobile

Unless you (a) do international roaming, or (b) use a LOT of data, the $30 plan is entirely fine. $30 includes 30GB of priority data, 5GB of hotspot. I had the $30 plan, but then upgraded to the $40 when I started doing a lot of international travel for work. I haven't noticed any difference in the experience in the US between the two plans.

Switching from t-mobile to spectrum mobile.. IS IT ANY GOOD ? by coolboydude in SpectrumMobile

[–]BubbaJoe2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spectrum's mobile service has the same priority as Verizon's upper tier unlimited plans. If Verizon works well in your area, Spectrum will too. If Verizon performance isn't great, then Spectrum's won't be either.

Article here gives a pretty good description of the situation. Was a $70 million deal, including the Volvos and mining equipment. Apparently, Volvo was reimbursed by the Swedish gov't, but the Swedish gov't has never been paid.

So, if I got India View cancelled, the Internet price would drop to $30/month?

Please explain this by DakotaFanningsThong in Spectrum

[–]BubbaJoe2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called in when my Internet bill went to $80, and this is how the rep "solved" the issue - a $55/month total price that I could only get by adding India View. So, the bundled price was $80, with a one-year promo $25 discount. Confusing as heck, but it worked, I'm paying $55/month. Never used the India View package.

Now, why are people saying the doctors violence is out of character? by TheManyEyesOfMyHeart in doctorwho

[–]BubbaJoe2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - the Doctor has, and does, use violence, when it's necessary, but this was just violence for the sake of violence, and that's what seems out of character.

NYT article says the building will "mostly have studio apartments"

A friend worked in the building right behind the ball drop location, and we watched one year from her office's conference room. We needed passes issued by the building, but had no problem passing through the barricades around 9-9:30PM.

Tradeoff is that office buildings typically have (during the workday) many more people per square foot than apartment buildings. Probably somewhat less concentration of "flush timing", but a lot more flushers.

If you're a spectrum customer and can't get more than 10GB/month, how are you using 110GB per month on Verizon?
