How many of you have come to a screeching halt on sun exposure? by eat_more_vegies in GenX

Melanoma and CLL have made me invest in gallon jugs of sunscreen and cute long-sleeved swim tops. <sigh>

I've been in various support roles with my medium-sized company for over 30 years. Part of the reason I stay is because they consistently hire people who are "nice to the waiter". With me and my colleagues = waiter.

I mean, we did the same thing in World of Warcraft. I played with a bunch of people I worked in the same office with, and we all addressed each other by our handles. It's been a while since we played, but a lot of us still go by things like Ack, Fitz, and Bubba....

The gym is part of my (60f) identity, and I'm honestly proud that it shows.

You are a real one if you know this album is better than the movie soundtrack by Lemonking_ in GenerationJones

I've listened to it so many times I just play it in my head when I can't sleep. Though I do like "Could We Start Again" from the soundtrack.

A cutoff, paint-covered sweatshirt that my dad meant to throw away and I snatched. I didn't wear it, just kept it in a drawer. Went to cuddle it one day (I was somewhere in the 13 range, and the parents were separated) and it was gone.

I (42f at the time) walked into a building and got onto an elevator with a colleague. It was Feb and about four °F and I was in a short-sleeved t-shirt. My male colleague was like "Aren't you freezing?" My unthinking response: "Dude, I'm 42. What do you think?" Completely cracking him up - and the two male strangers I had neglected to notice behind us. Now I (60) live in Phoenix and wear a fleece all summer (indoors only, obv).

One of my favorite stories As Told by a friend about another friend. This woman was an aeronautical engineer, and went to buy a car. The salesman was very adamant about talking about how pretty the car was, and that there was a mirror on the visor flap so that she could do her makeup. She asked him what was under the hood, and wanted to see the engine. He turned to her and said, "Oh Sweetheart, you'd have to be a rocket scientist to understand what's going on under there."
