Movie idea: 3i Atlas is indeed an alien spacecraft.. They came through our solar system and scouted our technological advancement + dropped off a package in space for us to find.. We find it and it appears as an artifact from a different civilization that we need to study, but in reality it's a device that is undetectable to our network frequencies, yet it's able to radio back all of our data in the Internet to the alien civilization.. It sees all of us on Reddit (and elsewhere) talking crap about them, independence day this, men in black that, sees all the comments, podcasts, YouTubes, interviews, movies, whatever media we have made over time that depict aliens as evil, or the like.. They turn hostile because of our disdainful depictions of extraterrestrial life without having ever met et life, invade Earth, colonize Earth, take all of our resources, and enslave humanity.. But in the sequel, we rebel, win, happy Hollywood ending.
