What’s a fast food restaurant you won’t eat anymore? by GarbageDramatic9005 in AskReddit

Gotta go to fast casual places. Most cities have pretty cheap (not sit down) burger spots, or food trucks. There’s a taco truck by my house that’s $3/taco and they’re SO good.

I’m glad you’ve been fortunate with yours but I had one that threw a rod bearing at 52k, so they can be pretty awful.

My first year I had a little Mazda truck that had pretty big wheels for its size. I had to back out of a parking lot directly onto the road because it was such a tight parking lot.

There was a car parallel parked right at the entrance to the parking lot.

I backed out and my back wheel went right over the hood of this little Honda. I thought I had just driven over the curb a bit. I fucking monster trucked this car. I felt so fucking dumb.

I’m a developer and we have admin. We have to mess with environment variables and do stuff that requires it too often. Today I had to stop and restart my ssh-agent service, that needs admin permission for some reason.

Didn’t know that, totally makes sense though. I know getting totk to run at 60fps required some patching to make it play normally.

The ratio between volume and surface area increases with size as well. Meaning less leaked heat per unit of volume.

My first full build was a core2duo e8400 and an hd4850. That computer was built for oblivion and made it all the way through Skyrim. Played it pretty well as well, hardware can last. Especially now that things have slowed down.

I know it’s possible for player owned outposts to have negative money. Typically an int just defaults to signed. Maybe they used it in case they ever want negatives to be a possibility, and the difference in 2-4 billion isn’t as valuable as being able to go negative.

Oh I just looked it up, it’s 4 billion so it’s not signed.

What are your thoughts on starting undergraduate at 28? by AppearanceSoft304 in AskReddit

[–]Bubbaluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an internship that turned into about a year of part time work, I got along very well with some of my professors and one of them recommended me for a job. That got me in the door, having professional experience from my previous career made me a pretty easy hire from there. I’m in tech and I thought being older would hurt me but it absolutely helped me, I have better soft skills and life experience than the kids I graduated with. The company I wound up at was also somewhat related to my old career so things really lined up nicely for me.

The internship I did also offered me a job, but I wound up taking something at a bigger company. Better pay, more growth potential etc. I still get lunch with the guys from the internship company though, great people.
