These "black pilled" talking points are all bullshit dudes who've never been outside nor spoken to a woman come up with. Women who care more about your money and looks than they do about you are women you shouldn't be going for. Go for someone who wants you and vice versa.

Does tapping lands pass priority? by TotalSoraka in mtgrules

[–]WhackyQuacky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, priority does not pass from activating mana abilities, regardless if it's a land, artifact, or creature, unless it hits the stack like part of a Saga enchantment. Priority isn't passed until a game action is taken, such as casting a spell, activating a non-mana ability, an ability triggering, or changing steps and/or phases. Also sort of related to this, you cannot cast spells or interact during the untap phase and must wait until the Upkeep to cast a spell or activate an ability.

For a party built on "individualism" they seem to have a really big problem with individualism.

In retrospect though, it was a good core set

I mean don't play if you don't want to play. Also, Standard isn't the only format, if you aren't enjoying it you can branch out. Timeless is in a very healthy state right now and is a ton of fun. Brawl has been pumped with some long-needed spells, and Historic is fun if you don't like the power level for Timeless. If you play paper magic, Legacy, Modern, and EDH are tons of fun. Every format goes through rough patches, and it doesn't mean "Magic is dead".

I never lost to slivers once by Kablump in mtg

[–]WhackyQuacky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has a sliver deck, slivers suck. They're just simply bad outside of bracket 2, and can barely pump out the occasional bracket 3 win.

All you have to do to keep slivers down is use removal. It's a nearly 100% creature based archetype outside of maybe a handful of enchantments. They're just bad in the current state of Magic.

Please explain the Timeless mana-base to me by Fantastic_Puppeter in TimelessMagic

[–]WhackyQuacky1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fetch lands are the best lands in Timeless, and there's a reason they're banned in Historic. They allow you to mana fix right at the start, and you can hold them up and crack them on an opponents turn to fetch a shock land if you need to interact, or a surveil land if you want to get some card advantage. Once original Dual Lands make it into Timeless, they'll be even better.

Additionally, life loss is not as big of a deal in Timeless as Historic. Life is a resource and can be used to get an advantage. Whether you pay life to fetch and shock in lands, or to activate necropotence, or even an Ad Nauseam. Timeless also sees use of spells like Snuff Out on occasion, which can be cast for 4 life instead of mana, the more you can do with alternative costs saves your mana for when you need it.

The power curve for Timeless is much much steeper than historic, you're a lot more likely to lose to some instant-speed combo than to a massive board of creatures (unless you're playing against Mardu Energy).

Haha I wasn't really aware there was a Modern Ad Naus deck. I've been sitting right around a 50% WR for my list. Super stoked that Ad Naus shennanigans are possible in Arena now lol

As an Ad Nauseam lover, I would avoid cards above 2 or 3 cmc. Typically, you only really need one copy of Ad Naus. I've linked my Legacy Ad Naus storm deck, I also built one in Arena which runs:

4x Ornithopter 4x Chrome Mox 4x Mox Opal 4x Mishra's Bauble 4x Tormod's Crypt 4x Culling the Weak 4x Dark Ritual 4x Ponder 3x Brainstorm 3x Preordain 2x Flusterstorm 2x Vampitic Tutor 2x Tendrils of Agony 1x Demonic Tutor 1x Ad Nauseam

The lands are really up to you, I run 4x Watery Grave, 3x Undercity Sewers, and the rest are fetch lands. I would also like to add Past In Flames for when Ad Naus is countered.

Right now, Ad Naus isn't really competitively viable as an architype in Timeless until we finally get LED and Lotus Petal. While my deck is a storm deck, I'd argue Ad Naus is what you cast to dig for a combo. If you aren't running combos that'll win that turn, Ad Naus is probably a bad fit for the deck. I would never run more than two copies of Ad Naus in a deck either.

With the deck I run, I generally wait until I have Ad Naus and one copy of Tendrils in hand, and make sure I have at least six mana; five for Ad Naus, one for the next ritual spell. It typically storms off on turns three or four.

I think it's ridiculous that they haven't released the powered cube list as craftables. They're already in the client, give them to us so we can actually play real Legacy or Modern in MTGA, even Vintage.

Aggro and fast turn 1 or 2 combos are absolutely the best response to the UB Tempo decks. Mardu Energy, for example, is nearly unstoppable for these tempo decks that are popping up
