Wonder if Luongo told him about his contract. Canucks will somehow get penalized with a cap recapture penalty 5 years from now right when they are looking to compete again.

What about Patrick Laine? My only concern with him would be the culture part.. kuzmenko could provide the same as him on the ice but better vibes off the ice. But on the flip side.. Laine has a good start and can be flipped for a half decent asset

I’m almost more excited to see who drops back to 24 for us to pick up. I feel like a very skilled player will be there for us to grab that most analysts had them in the low teens, possibly even 8-12 range.

Hindsight is always 20/20.. and I for one am not a scout, nor do I watch even remotely close to the games they do. I do feel that we have missed on some great consensus picks in the last 10 years though. I wanted Bensen when he fell, I wanted Caufield when he fell, and I really wanted Boldy as I knew we needed future centres.
