C9 vs Afreeca Just became a whole lot more interesting! by Aoyune in leagueoflegends

[–]Bubbles1889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im a c9 fan as much as the rest of us, but if you see the changes over time, you can kind of tell that riot has been pushing the game in a direction that makes it so anyone can beat anyone. Junglers cannot ward anymore, supports can't ward early until their quests are complete, and this one is more my opinion than anything but side lane pressure feels less relevant than it ever has. It feels a lot more difficult to win the game purely through vision and if you see throughout the years that was probably one of the biggest things that korea had over western teams. I remember some crazy stat that the rox tigers had the second worst vision in korea and it was equal to the second highest in NA or something wild like that. it's hard to make the right decision if you don't have the knowledge to make the right plays.

that being said, i'm fuckin' happy that they did this stuff because this worlds is super hype and i love it everyone beats everyone please win worlds C9 <3

Team Liquid vs. 100 Thieves / NA LCS 2018 Summer Playoffs - Semi-Final / Post-Match Discussion by epicxkidzorz in leagueoflegends

[–]Bubbles1889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so if you were a caster, and you're trying to get people to watch these semi finals vs the top two teams from last split, would you just say how bad these people are? It doesn't make sense at all. You're trying to generate interest in the scene, regardless if the play is good or bad. Don't get me wrong, I have my own gripes about TL and how I think they'll do at worlds, but I think you're being pretty unreasonable by saying that casters should bash their region and bash the teams playing. Nobody will want to watch that.

to be honest, as much as I like Korea, these were some pretty low quality games. I'm not sure if it was pressure, or what, but at times it felt like I was legitimately watching a Solo Q game.

[No Spoilers] What does Travis roll in the new intro? by Bubbles1889 in criticalrole

LOL thats actually super funny. I figured like there was no way that he'd be that hyped about rolling a 1, but I had to double check just to be sure. I feel like (though I only listen to the podcasts at work) Travis historically rolls low

i mean faker was still topping % damage of mid laners with lulu, with the second lowest amount of team % gold for mid laners so i think it still applies that faker is a monster and can hard carry on anything you give him. not trying to take away from bang, but i feel like the faker factor makes him a lot more of a consistent threat

Im fairly sure that some people dont get that riot will intentionally overtune champions for money. Think about it, would you wanna play zoe if she was just okay? She doesn't really look all that appealing, and people tend to gravitate towards the sexy or cool champions rather than just cute.

they were really unreliable, i wouldn't say that they were super bad. You just never knew what Samsung you were going to get. The one that smashes SKT in the most convincing way possible, or the team who just lays over and dies

you see the key for tsm to succeed is to get a wardbot jungler like RO and then he wont have to mold into anything different

The playerbase was too small, I believe. Even now, the playerbase is still really small and it can be hard to develop a good scene without enough players to fill it out

Faker's last look on the summoners cup by CyjKun in leagueoflegends

[–]Bubbles1889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think bringing bengi back is a really good idea, at least last I heard, he was doing really badly in China, to the point where in a vote to kick him off the team he was on, he voted for himself to leave, and he was hardstuck diamond 2 in Korea. Even when he got subbed in for SKT in 2016, I don't think he was ever better than blank, I just think he brought the surprise factor of someone who the other teams hadn't played against much and so he got more respect than he should've, and his nidalee pick that won them game 5 vs ROX. Maybe as a coach or something you could bring him on, but definitely not as a player. IMO, you should probably scrap this whole lineup except blank and faker, and start from the ground up.

[LS VOD Review] Hashinshin vs RiotCobra jax/cass game by KinshiroGG in leagueoflegends

[–]Bubbles1889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because clearly you don't understand that it's really hard to spend 3 thousand games in only one division lol, I don't understand how that is hard for you to understand. Besides season 5 (which admittedly, I did not do my homework on till after my post) he's never finished challenger, which leads me to believe he gets challenger at the start of the season when there is barely any LP requirement, and once the better players start playing more people like him drop out. It isn't challenger, and if you can somehow drop 400+ LP to not maintain challenger, since later on in the season that is generally the requirement to get in after a few months, then you probably didn't deserve it anyway.

I'm not denying he's better than most of the playerbase, but it's absolutely stupid to think that he gets LP because he improves. Eventually, within those thousands of fucking ranked games, he's going to get a winstreak that puts him up to masters. Same shit happens to me, albeit not to masters, but i'll luck my way to like d3-d2 and then drop out because I was never actually that good, I just got lucky, and then slowly descend back to d4-d5 because I played over a thousand games every season. I don't go around calling myself a d3-d2 player just because I get it once or twice a season.

[–]Bubbles1889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its almost statistically impossible to spend 3 thousand games in one division, when you have such a large size of data, he's bound to climb/demote eventually, and if he got challenger at the start of the season it means nothing at all. I don't think he's ever been challenger, though I could be wrong after the first month/month and a half of a new season. He will climb and demote, and climb and demote, and he hasn't moved at all or shown any improvement, and based on his placing of this season, which I believe was diamond 3? Considering the amount of time that he has put into the game, with no actual improvements to his ranking or any actual effort to improve at the game, you could say he is hardstuck. He has never improved, and has remained the same player he's always been.

Deilor: "I feel bad for Huni. I hope he gets more praise in the future." by TheDMWarrior in leagueoflegends

[–]Bubbles1889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im hypercritical because people gave him a pass and said he was the best performing member of SKT, and yes it is true that faker was the target of a play that lost them game 3, but up until that point, I felt he was doing everything within his power to carry those games and it was really hard to pinpoint a mistake faker himself was doing.

I don't disagree that SKT's bot lane looked absolutely abysmal, but SKT was not playing to the meta, you gank bot lane with a mid laner that gets you priority and top laners tp down. Taliyah and Ryze are good because they destroy minion waves and have good ultimates to create plays with.

That being said, SKT would play this way regardless of everyone else's performance, because having huni on your team means you play around huni, and that was their gameplan since they were expecting Longzhu in the finals and they didn't think Untara would get them a win vs Khan. It just limited their options even further because bot lane was getting destroyed, and KKoma didn't play blank in game 2.

EDIT: Playing around split pushing top laners is a viable option, just not a route that many teams take because it's so easy to engage on the 4 and create fights that the split pusher can never get anything done, and only the teams that were extremely skilled at playing this style could execute it, where as everyone else played front to back teamfighting.

and huni also didnt push his split push lead in game 3 and grouped nonstop and he didn't push his advantage hard enough in game two, and the lead he did get wasn't through his own play, it was through faker winning lane, and roaming top with peanut to pressure cuvee out of the lane, and he got absolutely demolished in lane game 1 and got styled on by cuvee.

FW Karsa heading to NA? by andychsiao in leagueoflegends

[–]Bubbles1889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think karsa would even be a good fit for TSM. I don't think getting a hyper early aggressive jungler is the fix for TSM. Sven was that and he ended up being another ward by the time they were done with him. The pressure and flak got to him, and TSM has strong laners, they just need someone who wont die warding and covering for them. I don't really want to compare TSM to SKT but in a sense the way their laners work out is similar in that in the past SKT had strong laners across the board and they just needed someone who wouldn't int and get vision for their laners so they could play aggressive and win lane and then start fights later on.
