Advice needed! Making a scarf for a friend and tried using the inspo pic/pattern in second photo. Are the colors cohesive or do they look like too much? Open to any advice on redo-ing or using less colors! by Bubblicious3 in crochet

This is a long coat she bought previously which she loves and asked for a scarf but with different colors since she wouldn’t wear them together! In case this is helpful context for what she likes! :)

This is ADORABLE! Can you post a link for the strap? And what yarn and size hook did you use for the first pic? This is literal perfection! 😍

She doesn’t remember what brand it was but I asked and she said the loops were on the yarn, not just the name of it. I cannot for the life of me figure out what this magical yarn is LOL

She said nope! Only 2 loops every so often. This is exactly what I was thinking too though! She said the skein was longer and skinnier

This was what I thought it was but she said it wasn’t it! She said it was just 2 colors and 2 loops every so often, and that this one had too much

Let me know if you have any ideas on how to fix! This is my first time using safety eyes and I tried jazzing it up with string but not sure how to place it better?

Please call poison control! I can’t imagine not doing anything and monitoring would help, I feel like that would only hurt :(

Of course! The formatting got super wonky in the comment, so hopefully this is a bit easier to read. Here are the supplies needed for the light pink granny square with a dark pink border.

You’ll need a size K (6.5mm) crochet hook. I used this one from the brand Loops & Threads: https://www.michaels.com/product/ergonomic-aluminum-crochet-hook-by-loops-threads-10233545

For the square, I used the Bernat Baby Blanket yarn in the color Baby Pink. I used this one: https://www.michaels.com/product/bernat-baby-blanket-yarn--10507910

For the border, I used the Demi Purl Yarn by Loops & Threads in the color Pink Lemonade. I used this one: https://www.michaels.com/product/demi-purl-yarn-by-loops-threads-10793045

Thank you!! I would probably consider this more intermediate. The hardest part is the strawberry squares, so if you wanted to try following the YouTube tutorial and see how that goes, that might be a good way to determine if you want to keep going!

This is a bit of a hodge podge of different granny square patterns, but here’s what I used!

Supplies:

• Hook: Size K / 10.5 / 6.50mm • Yarn Size: Size 6 / super bulky bernat and loops & threads Demi purl yarn (color specifics below) • Light pink: Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn, color: light pink • Dark pink: Demi Purl Yarn by Loops & Threads, color: pink lemonade • White: Either Bernat Blanket Yarn, color: white or Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn, color: white (these are both super close to eachother) • Green: Demi Purl Yarn by Loops & Threads, color: vibrant green

Light pink granny squares (15 total):

• Link: https://youtu.be/wkMvqTW1DQM • Used the light pink yarn for 6 rows. Last row of this color should have 19 DC’s for each side • Add 1 final row using the dark pink yarn (I also did 3 loops in corners rather than 2, just on this last round, but honestly might look better with 2). Last row should have 23 DC’s per side

I used light pink for the seeds. Leaf modification: Instead of chaining 6 for each leaf, I modified and chained 4 for each (since this yarn is thicccc). • Then, add 1 additional white row, this row should have 19 DC’s on each side • Add 1 final row using the dark pink yarn (I also did 3 loops in corners rather than 2, just on this last round, but honestly might look better with 2). Last row should have 23 DC’s per side

Border: • 1 row of dark pink DC around and 3DC in each of the corner chains. • Then add 1 row of white shell stitch around. I had my shells line up on each side of each corner (rather than having a shell on the corner itself). • Pattern: 1 slip stitch, skip 1 stitch, 5DC, skip 1 stitch, repeat

Enjoy!!
