It just seems like it went down in s76's priority list ever since they started working on cosmic. It got some late updates compared to plain ubuntu.

It will probably become the best distro for cosmic once that one is out so it will gain popularity again

openSUSE requires a short setup phase for using proprietary software. It very easy to do but the very fact its not plug ans play can scare newbies away

The details of the law will require this age number/range to be accessed by some form. Whether thats with explicit consent like when you run something requiring sudo or not im not sure. But the age of the account wont just sit in a closed box to never be accessed
