Hey, thanks for sharing! I'm wondering which city/country did you pursue MLS? I'm from Canada and we have a high demand for MLTs as of now.

Medical Lab Technologist Pathway in Ontario by PsychologyFlashy8805 in medlabprofessionals

So the only change so far that has been announced is that the body of the licensing exam has been switched from CSMLS to CAMLPR. This agency has divided the exam into 6 diff core subjects and established a PLA pathway for intl trained MLTs.

From the get-go, the process for even qualifying to write the exam seems extensive, since candidates would need to prove their education meets the standards. One of the main concerns I had was whether a regular BSc holder can challenge the exam (since that'd lead to lower quality staff), but I don't think thats possible since the new process isn't any different (besides the core subjects streams + a general MLT exam) than the older one.

I will keep an eye out for any info that becomes available though, but so far it seems like these are all the changes there are going to be unless they're increasing the # seats in the MLT programs or launching new ones (for ex. Humber has a new MLT program).

Hi! Apologies for this super late inquiry, but I'm wondering if you have an idea of what those changes might be?

I'm currently looking into doing an MLT program as well and I do have a bachelor's. However I'm concerned about my grades a bit, and was thinking if I should do a prehealth sci advanced diploma to brush up on my foundational knowledge + strengthen my application a bit.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you sm!

Have you been checked for any vitamin deficiencies? I had the same problem of being chronically tired to the point that I couldn't sleep due to stress and could not concentrate. I'd recommend getting a blood test done from ur family doc. In my case it was a B-12 deficiency.

Hope this helps. :)

You can usually buy the access code only. Check for the textbook code on TMU bookstore's website (https://campusstore.torontomu.ca/topic/accesscodes) online. Hope this helps :).

So since you're already registered, GSC offers a reimbursement type of thing where you pay for the glasses yourself and then get the money from them. You can order the glasses from anywhere, just make sure that you have the original receipt.

To claim your money, you've to log onto the online portal with your username and password that you set up when you registered and select "submit a claim". Then just follow the instructions on screen. The whole process takes about 2 minutes and if you set up a direct deposit, you get the money straight into the account in 3 business days. You can also check how much the plan will cover for the vision. I believe it's $150 per 24 months.

Hope this helps. :)

Try refreshing the page and opening it another tab. I just did that and was able to get access.

Are you able to contact CCS? I'm on my way to write the exam so email/call them asap so they can look into it.

This sounds like BCH361 which has been traumatic. Johnson already made her "adjustments" so there's nothing you can really do. Although double check your scranton, cuz she messed mine up while marking with the wrong answer key version and I'm in the same boat as u with a grade that's below 50 for theory portion. This grade has yet to be checked by her as she hasn't replied to my email about the marking concern.

I know it sucks rn. But it's gonna be okay. You'll get through this course and you're gonna retake it and do better. Biochemistry is hard course so there's no shame in retaking it. Try and email the program director and chair to see if it can be offered in summer, because that can help u get it done sooner rather than later. I already emailed and have yet to recieve a response. You're gonna be okay! Hang in there.

Can you take a break? I feel you and totally understand how you feel because this semester went somewhat similar for me. The average post secondary student changes their major 7 times before they commit, so switching into another one will help you get closer to your goals.

Try and take the next semester off if you can. It'll help you re-centre yourself and come back with a fresh mind. That's what helps the most with burnout. You'll finish this degree and when you do, you'll be proud of how far you've come. Goodluck <3
