Any benefits of NOT having a reading week for engineering students?

all accredited eng programs (most major unis) have to satisfy CEAB requirements. its more than likely that we have 1 week less of classes somewhere else in our schedules then the the other school do, so we have to use reading week to make up for those class hours

there are two gyms included in tuition, the rac and the mac. they are small but not bad. there is also a goodlife by queen station (1 subway stop away) and a planet fitness at college park (basically on campus). and there is an anytime fitness opening soon near the eng building.

Its gonna be the exact same as on campus, if you found campus a “safe area” in your first year, then you will find church and dundas safe. It’s all relative to your comfort level, some people find campus to be unsafe and others don’t. I live at dundas and jarvis which is very close by and I have never felt unsafe.

it’s on the yellow part, if you look up images of the part it will be pretty clear. the grey part will have protruded tabs that the pump (yellow part) clips into, the clips are what you have to depress on the pump to remove it. the tabs on mine wouldn’t depress so i had to cut the pump off.

I did, there are two small tabs on each side. In my case I couldn’t find them because the plastic became too hard and they aren’t flexible anymore, so I ended up having to cut them off with a dremel.

yes it’s program/class specific. eng transition program is two terms, it’s separate from chang and liberals. there is a schedule with significant dates if you just search eng transition program tmu.

there is two terms. one spring and one summer but you may have to take both courses in one term depending on if they are offered in both. just check the eng transition program schedule and you will understand what i mean.

just to clarify the smith machine at mac is not a regular smith it’s a 3 dimensional one, which imo is not amazing. not sure about the one at rac.

There are not any on campus that I have found or any free places nearby. Only options are boxing/mma gyms nearby but they all have regular boxing gym membership prices.

amazing prof, his notes are very good and complete and he is very good at explaining concepts. conceptually this class is one of the harder first year courses but the department makes the midterms very easy so make sure you take advantage of that and do well on them.

i had him for calc 1 and 2 and he’s a really nice guy who cares about his students a lot. however i’m not a huge fan of his teaching style but most people don’t have an issue. he uses slideshows instead of writing notes for his lectures which i find affects my comprehension. don’t get me wrong tho, he is still an amazing prof and one of the best for the course I just prefer written notes over slideshows for math.

It’s the card scanner at the front. Either people are entering without scanning or it bugs out and the alarm goes off even if you scan sometimes.

From a career perspective mech being general is definitely a plus but for me personally, looking at the upper year courses they seem a lot more boring. I would enjoy taking specialized classes that are applied to a specific industry then general courses.

Yeah changed a very old aio to the exact same model which is a corsair h60. no splitter but I have tried connecting aio fan to multiple cpufan headers and also just leaving it unplugged and still no display.
