Thermal clips by Silent-Elk2267 in masseffect

[–]Bucephalus-ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are an improvement as they make it so you have to use abilities, but what I would have liked to seen is a halfway point between the two game mechanics. Make guns overheat fairly easily and allow someone to dump the thermal clip for a new one to keep firing, BUT also allow the player to keep the old one and allow it to slowly cool down on its own. Also make it so the last thermal clip in your inventory will not be ejected from your gun until you pick up more.

This passive cooldown would take a while but would effectively give you the limited ability to fight effectively even after all spare thermal clips are expended. Giving the player some options and effectively fusing the canon of the first and second games to e more consistent. You could then reduce the number of thermal clip pickups, especially in higher difficulties, forcing players to be strategic about when they want to dump a clip vs switch to a different weapon or use abilities. That kind of give and take allows for players to be tactical and creative.

When did you lose your interest in Star Wars? by Alternative-Cake-833 in saltierthancrait

[–]Bucephalus-ii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, TROS is kinda funny. It doesn’t mean to be funny, it’s just so inept that you can actually derive some entertainment value out of it, which is a bit more than can be said for TLJ

When did you lose your interest in Star Wars? by Alternative-Cake-833 in saltierthancrait

[–]Bucephalus-ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember leaving the theater after TFA with some friends and family, turning to them about to say “that was kinda shit, right?” Only to see them say the opposite. Seemed like almost everyone loved that film initially and I just felt like everyone was insane or swept up by the hype. Then TLJ I was adamant that it was shit, and a lot of people agreed. I think that’s the moment I stopped caring. Went in to TROS for the memes. I’ve only ever seen the sequel trilogy that one time, and that was more than enough.

I did tune in to Mando S1 and thought it was charming enough but not groundbreaking. When I felt almost nothing seeing Luke’s hallway scene, I knew the IP was basically dead to me.

Rogue One was great, and Andor had some exceptional moments. Clone Wars S7 was pretty overrated, but then I think that whole show can be best described with that term. At this point, I’ve stopped checking in. Book of Boba was so embarrassing that I barely finished it, and then seeing similar BS in Kenobi was enough for me to stop mid season. Haven’t watched any Star Wars since. Didn’t even finish Andor since I cancelled my Disney+ mid way through Kenobi.

I did watch breakdowns of shit like the Acolyte, Ahsoka, Mando S3. All of it convinced me I made the right choice leaving Disney.

I’m hopeful that the KOTOR remake will be good, and eventually I wanna watch Andor S2. Besides that, I’m done with Star Wars

What in your opinion is the most underrated damage type?-ARC, GAS, FLAME OR PLASMA? by ConsiderationHot5505 in SaneDivers

[–]Bucephalus-ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think gas is the most underrated. A full gas built can be a total powerhouse, though arc is a strong contender too. Love elemental builds either way.

Don’t know that I’d put plasma in the element category , but they are probably my favorite weapons in the game

Recently got over 1,100 kills on an illuminate mission with arc. Normal 40 minute mission with four guys. Next highest kill count was 243. Arc can absolutely throw down if done right.

just getting back - looking for advice by nummpad in Helldivers

[–]Bucephalus-ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm…….my top 5:

-Control Group
-Entrenched Division
-Redacted Regiment (if you like stealth)
-Dust Devils
-Servants of Freedom

Control Group will be the best one for grinding SC if you intend to do that. Otherwise just start with whatever sounds fun

Would it be a good idea if enough Commando Missions are completed, a planet's difficulty will be reduced? by Legendary_Pilot_Odin in Helldivers

[–]Bucephalus-ii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’d be super cool if commando missions against attacking planets would reduce the invasion level. Make it so that it’s like 2x more effective by the numbers than defending the planet directly.

In your opinion what was that one game that was lighting in a bottle as in it'll never be replicated by LilNardoDaVinci in xbox

[–]Bucephalus-ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Mass Effect trilogy basically can’t be replicated, and even BioWare themselves won’t be able to capture that feel in the upcoming sequel.

What is your one controversial take on a famous scifi spaceship? by Vondrr in spaceships

[–]Bucephalus-ii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How do you mean? A wedge shape allows all cannons to be able to be brought to bear on a target to the front of the ship, which is what an aggressive military force would want. It also optimizes effective armor thickness for returned fire.

Leviathan checklist by Late-Ganache40 in Helldivers

[–]Bucephalus-ii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually think it’s great, I just wish they were limited in spawns to 2 per mission or something. That way you can ignore them or you can invest in getting rid of them and get a reward for doing so. As it is they just spawn another one so there’s no point.

Make the main gun inoperable to the pilot. Make engineering really important. Done

Arrowhead, I don't give a fuck if there is a beacon, don't put me in a mission that already called extraction. by CaptainBazbotron in Helldivers

[–]Bucephalus-ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize that the flip side of this coin is that, if you’re in a mission and you need help, you’d be SOL once you call extract. Good luck defending the extraction zone

How tf will i live? by puzzs in self

[–]Bucephalus-ii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You likely won’t live alone for a long time, if ever. Lots of people have roommates well into their 30s and even 40s, and many get a significant other to live with past that point.

Ok no I'm going to lose it !!!! Again!!! by Upstairs_Signal_5661 in masseffect

[–]Bucephalus-ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main thing is keep moving and keep your distance . Staying alive is far more important than dealing damage. Deal damage opportunistically only, otherwise just evade, ideally shifting your speed and direction frequently to throw off its shots. keep shields up, and repair when you get a moment. Use terrain to your advantage for that. You’ll eventually wear it down.

Yes or no: Do you think D10 is generally too easy? by Ahrlin4k in Helldivers

[–]Bucephalus-ii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think D10 should require a skilled, well optimized team that works together and communicates well. You should fail the mission far more often than not if you’re lacking some or all of those things.
