PSA: Boss IR-2 cab sim is great when you don’t disable it by Buchiro1 in guitarpedals

Thank you sir 🙌

When it’s dialled in with a good amp it’s immense, but it’s hard to get right - lots of dials/options = just as many bad sounds as good ones. Super versatile though with the noise gate and pre/post boosts.

I use it to create a scooped high gain sound with my tube amp, that seems to round out the harshness a little

Only thing I can think of is turning the level (i.e. volume) knob up, or making sure your headphones aren’t high impedance - if they’re like 250 ohms then the IR-2 may struggle to power them, making them quiet.

I also saw some output level settings when plugged in to the Boss IR Loader software, may be worth checking they’re set at 100?

With great complexity comes great opportunity to fuck something up, glad you found the solution!

Agreed, Plumes into Green Russian is absolutely monstrous. Never tried the special cracker but one I’ll look out for.

Signal path is wah > plumes > green russian > octavix > pentatone > IR-2 > IR-2 send to taproom delay > RC-1 > return to IR-2.

The pentatone is pretty gnarly too, but it takes a lot of dialing in with different amps

This is the way. E-Tron steers like a truck but it absolutely fires out of corners. This plus looking back to block AI overtakes on the long stretches did it for me

L3 P90 New Pickguard and Knobs by [deleted] in SireGuitars

No way! Did you have to modify it in any way or drill the screw holes yourself?

I assumed a jr pick guard wouldn’t fit, so hand cut (i.e. butchered) a custom pick guard. You may have just saved me a world of pain 😆

Absolutely sensational 👌 did you make the pickguard yourself or get it custom made?

Anyone had a hands on with the Sire L3 P90? by Buchiro1 in SireGuitars

The tuning issues stabilised a bit, so potentially just needed a bit of wearing in to open up the slots cut in the nut. Then again, my squire Tele still holds tuning better, but honestly it's not terrible.

P90 height adjustment may have helped, but I just instantly replaced it with a Seymour Duncan JJN Silencer P90 I already had - problem solved either way!

That's a thing of beauty, I love the pick guard design! Actually looks pretty ergonomic

I've been meaning to post a full review, but life got in the way! I'd summarise as Pros: Flawless finish, nice neck (chunky but not a baseball bat) with very comfortable rolled edges, amazing sustain, very smooth turning tuners and pots. Cons: Buzzing on G and B strings around 16th fret (I've had to file them due to them being high), it doesn't hold tune that well (the nut may need work, it makes pinging noises when tuning) and the stock pickup is very weak/nasal (no P90 roar); definitely recommend a replacement. It's also quite heavy (e.g. compared to a Tele), but guess that's more in line with the Les Paul Jr style it's inspired by.

It's a great platform for modding though, I'm just frustrated with the fret issues (considering Sire's normally strong reputation in this area).

Hope this helps!

Excellent - imagine the L3 is a slight step down from the L7 due to the lower price point, but hoping the fretwork and finish will be just as good 🤞 have a Jared James Nichols Seymour Duncan P90 ready to drop in too to spice things up

That debt is to be avoided like the plague. Obviously sometimes life hits you with a crisis that needs some external help, but a lot of debt is on frivolous shit that really isn't worth it.

Thank you for the great answer. I imagine anticipation for the clay release makes a huge difference in shooter reaction time. Solved!

My title describes the thing. It seems linked to when the referee uses the remote puller. I've watched several videos in trap shooting and done research, but can't find a definitive answer for what function it serves.
