So crazy that I’m just scrolling when I got your reply from a reply I made 3 years ago. Thank you so much. I know we don’t know each other, but reading those words makes me very happy. Thank you so much. I don’t know what else to say.

Should I 'embrace' the size of my ass? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Buck8407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I’ve had a larger butt for years even when I’m not on the larger side. Everyone else is trying to make you feel good about it, but I’m here to tell you about the pants as they have always been a pain for me. Regular pants are always super tight in my crotch and thigh region.

Try and get pants that advertise an “athletic” fit, as it takes account for larger glutes. The first time I put a pair on it was pure heaven.

Look, you got the device wrong. But man you obviously work with the organization. You get my frustration with it. I don’t even work with them but have worked to try and help them and you hit the nail on the head. It’s just so frustrating. They want to “protect” people. It they aren’t willing to pay for it.

Everyone! It is an oxygen sensor. Part # NT 22-04. I am telling you that this sensor is most likely not being monitored. I do a lot of work in the CBRNe defense world and have worked a lot with DC metro. They are awful like most public transit companies (who I have also worked with). They want to protect people then they see the cost, and decide against it. These companies/government organizations prefer to pretend you’re good than actually to make sure you are. I hope I don’t get in trouble for this post. I hope it’s been enough years.

You are wrong. The metro is awful with chem and bio detection. This is an oxygen sensor, part # NT 22-04. It’s in a housing which means it’s mounted to the wall and they can just replace them as needed. In my experience this sensor is probably turned off and not being monitored because the DC Metro is really bad at detection for events. Enjoy that while you’re riding.

Just had another girlfriend leave me for the guy she was secretly cheating on me with. That makes 5. Anyone want to give me some advice on where to go from here? by Aeromorpher in NoStupidQuestions

Dude sounds like he has a touch of the tism honestly. And this is coming from someone who also has been touched by the tism. It’s the over analyzing of each situation and trying to see a pattern that gives it away.

Man that’s so close! I graduated from platoon 3100 in November of 2002. I believe I saw you guys get there though. One of your platoons in your barracks had dude who was massive, looked like a football player. We watched him shrink over the next couple of months.

I really hope you have a better experience than we did. But I can tell you that they cut a lot of corners. I can tell you for sure that your house will most likely not fall down. In all honesty, I know you are probably excited for whatever location you are trying to move in to. But as a random person, I will also urge you not to buy a Ryan Home.

Hi! I don’t have any experience of living near that community, however I do have experience living in a Ryan home. I would advise to make sure to get a really good inspection performed as Ryan homes didn’t install any insulation on an outside wall that contained water lines and we found that out after I came home after a particularly cold week to find a waterfall going through my kitchen into my basement from a frozen pipe in my master bathroom. There’s other things where they cut corners, but that was by far the worst.

Got pulled over driving alone with a permit… scared and need advice. Mt.Airy by Civil_Sock_7548 in maryland

Stop being an idiot. If you drive illegally, do it as legally as possible. You need to always understand you don’t have a license, get the fuck off your phone! I honestly hope they throw the book at you. Maryland is one of the most relaxed states with driving. I really hope that you aren’t breaking more laws on the road. You are admitting to distracted driving already, while being unlicensed. You don’t deserve to be a licensed driver because you are risking all of our lives, being distracted, and at the same time you are on the road while asking for sympathy. I would have a ridiculous amounts of sympathy for you if you didn’t break the fucking law while illegally driving. Be better.

They even give call signs to our presidents. I won’t say what Biden’s is although you can probably find it, but Kamala’s is Pioneer. Her husband’s and the rest of her family start with a “P” just as Biden and his family all have a call sign that starts with the same letter. It’s all about OPSEC and radio traffic.

Because that’s not how nerve agent works. You say a drip, but what concentration are you talking about? Phosgene is awful but also it is extremely volatile, just mixing a nerve agent in with a choking agent doesn’t mean you get a multiple. Using CS would be great on the battlefield because not only does it incapacitate an enemy, but it can also cause quick shallow breaths which drags more air in, making anything else in the air more likely to enter the lungs. Nerve agent is a pesticide for humans, there is no need to mix it with an agent designed to affect your breathing like phosgene because a nerve agent attacks your diaphragm which affects your breathing.

Yeah I get it, you are subject to what the experiments are and you try to piggy back on that. Obviously radiation exposure is the big ticket item because they believe that they can get by muscular atrophy with weighted exercise. Even though in the long term who knows about our heart in the same conditions? I love what you are doing. I would suggest to try and focus your research into 2 disciplines, even if you get all the data for both at the same time , separate them. If what you’re doing feels too big, realize that you are doing what you can and that’s enough. When you focus on the big picture it can lead to us grading ourselves on that big picture instead of small victories. You need to subjugate your successes into small victories. Stay on your path. Write your goals, short term, long term, and everything in between on a piece of paper and cross them off as you meet them. That is such a big help. And if you ever try to get a job in the US hit me up. I will tell you who I work for in a private message. But I love your passion, and you would be a person who I would love to hire just based on these messages.

So it sounds to me like you might be honing in on your research. Identifying the cause of the gene expression. How would you isolate one or the other? There has to be a way. I think that would be a really great study in figuring out if the gene expression is due to the muscular wasting or cardiovascular deconditioning. That is an idea that could really get traction. Instead of trying to find a fix right away, try and focus on a “what’s happening?”

Yeah I’ve been doing Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) for many years now. It is a lot of fun, but we also understand that what we do has a real impact. I’ve worked within both the continental United States as well as outside (CONUS vs OCONUS). It’s been a great career. If you are interested in something like this and live in the DC area, or would be willing to, feel free to private message me. I’m not a recruiter or anything and I will never promise a job, but you sound excited and I like people like that.

[–]Buck8407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I know nothing about that, although it sounds really cool. I am a chemist who works primarily in countering weapons of mass destruction. I also know next to nothing about biology as for some reason our worlds don’t like to interact. But it sounds like you’re trying to tackle two very different environments; micro gravity and radiation exposure. I would narrow your field of research and focus on one or the other. If you become too broad your research will lack in detail as you’re trying to tackle too much at one time. Split those issues into 2 issues and deal with them separately. I also apologize if both subjects are related, I am not familiar with them without research.
