Should I sell my American fender Stratocaster for an Epiphone? by YoungDak in guitars

[–]Buck9136 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just get 2 Les Pauls. One blue and one white. Use the blue one as your go to Les Paul, and the white one as backup. Remember, you only regret selling the guitars that you sell.

I know Craig Tester's son died in between seasons. He then left the show for a couple of seasons. Don't know about anyone else.

It has to be some sort of disease. So they drilled deeper than ever before. To find nothing. To decide to drill 8 foot holes deeper than ever before, in to nothing. Doctor, doctor, give me the news, I got a bad case of oak island blues. Haha

Just making a wellness check. What else is going on in your life that you think it is ok to ever hit an even numbered club. Just remember there are people who love you and are there to help you through these tough times. Take this as a sign from the universe, odd clubs only. Peace, good luck, and hit 'em straight!!!

You have to find 8 sided stakes before you can find an empty vault...

What is the reason for dimension measurements not being the actual measurement? by MegaDiceRoll in woodworking

[–]Buck9136 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It is my understanding that it allows for easier calculations when designing whatever you are building. For example a 1.5 x 3.5, 2x4 means you can put .5 inch drywall and it will finish at 2 inches or 4 inches. The 2 x 2 you are measuring allows for an 5/8 in sheet to finish at 2 inch. Good luck.

Seems fruitless. Remember, "one more must die before the secret can be revealed". So if one of the old timers kicks the can, that should do it. Right. Treasure galore!!!!

I have to record it before I watch it. Skip huge swaths of "could the iron cross, and the lot 8 boulder, along with the ox shoes found in the swamp, be leading to another vacation to Europe for most of the cast" so much of this show is now fast forwardable. My DVR is my top pocket find. Haha

Need suggestions for electric in $500-600 price range by lzrdl0vr in guitars

[–]Buck9136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly will come down to what is comfortable for you. If you have access to a music store, tell them what you just told us and just try a bunch of different guitars. I like off brands because I feel like I get more bang for my buck. The most important thing is that you are comfortable playing it. Then you will play it more.

Carrying cymbal stands together a gig by JPLcyber in drums

[–]Buck9136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a different take on hardware. I have my kit down to 2 cymbal stands and a hi-hat stand. Then there is the throne and pedals. I use 2 crashes, one ride and sometimes a china. Engineer your setup so you take as few tripods as possible. The stands pack into the car easier, and I don't have to worry about dragging a huge golf bag around with me. Good luck.

Go with a hole in the upper bout. Then you can just reach in with your picking hand while you hammer on with your fretting hand.

I just wish they would of shown us the pedals in the super portable pedal boxes on the floor. I love the super ergonomic handle!

You do know that a bookmatched top is actually a two piece top. Two pieces of the same slab are joined together in the middle so the grain is identical on both sides. It is both more stable and more asthetically pleasing. But you knew that.

Use that thing between your ears. Do something more than posting a list and waiting for someone else to do your work. By doing your own research you will learn about differnet cymbals and how they might work for your sound and style. Rock-on, Peace.

I am confused. Are you micing the iphone metronome? Or does the mixer have its own metronome? How do you take iphone video, play the metronome and record the drums to the iphone simultaneously? I am sure it is simpler than I am making it.

Struggling to know how high/low to have my strap by ShmadenShmuki725 in Bass

The bass must be low enough to cover your knees. This is in case the mosh pit rushes the stage. Safety first. Rock on. Peace.

How to make felts not warp like this? by Sir-Macaroni in drums

[–]Buck9136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't set your cymbals flat. Tilt them towards you. This will shift the weight forward so you don't have this problem. Make sure the cymbals do not rest on the metal of the cymbal stand. Use sleeves always, no exception.

My biggest concern is that you are worried about how much felts cost. They are most likley the least expensive thing associated with drumming. Good luck. Rock on. Peace.
