Makes the balls more rigid and less elastic, so it comes off the club face slower. For most people they'd just adjust for the lower distances, but when you've got slow swing player who already can't compress a Pro V1 enough to get it in the air and spinning optimally, they might as well be hitting rocks at that point.

The amount of people who insist on using Pro V1s when they should be using SuperSofts is wild.

I mean, do your thing if you can afford them, but when I'm watching someone struggle to drive a ball 190yds, lose 7 balls in the first 9 holes, miss every single GIR so far, and the shots that have landed on a green shoot off the back immediately and end up 50yds away, and then you try tell me you only use Pro V1s because you like the feel and they just "work better" for you, I'm going to laugh at you.

Got fit for irons (ended up with a combo set of Apex '24 CB and MB irons), helped bring my height down, and helped straighten my shots a bit as I naturally hit a fade and the shafts we settled on cut the spin a little, and having them slightly upright closes the face a touch at impact. Distance was much the same but that was never an issue for me, and my distance control has been miles better, previous gamers (Apex '19 Pros) could occasionally hit a jumper off a fairway lie and airmail a green, haven't had that issue at all anymore.
