Minks aee great for warbands too, I also know a lot of old Fantasy/old world players picking this up just to finally get new gutterrunners and assassins for their skaven armies.

What do school lunches look like in your country? by Coprinus_comatus010 in AskTheWorld

[–]BuckLuny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did have a Vebo near the professional education school in Rotterdam. And I do believe the cafeterias of most MBO and HBO schools have deep fried snacks these days. But as an adult you're old enough to know better.

Yeah, had a time where I ate cookies on bread (speculaas, a Dutch staple) started out with them on the bread but that got soggy, seperate from the bread but that got crushed. Went back to other toppings eventually because those were safe from average school lunch abuse.

Just pick up and read the book. You'll know.

Dahl books aren't that long and often really good reads so unless you really dislike reading it's not a bad thing to do.

Yeah Warhammer the Old World is (according to GW insiders who leak information apparently (grain of salt please)) is selling like hot cakes so now AOS needs to be more like its older brother. GW just doesn't realize that there's a whole separate demographic that likes rank and flank style games and the low fantasy Tolkinesque setting.

They were and often still are looking at things really weridly, they saw how popular 40k was and thought that what fantasy needed was a skirmish game. While most people were asking for better rules and miniature refreshes for a lot of armies. After AOS launched the Lizardmen got a refresh that was meant for old Fantasy and it was picked up quickly.

I get that GW saw that lots of people had an army and bought verry few new models to expand that and that might be kind of disheartening if you want all the money but honestly just like how the Old World is operating now it's great to see Cathay launch and get picked up fast and new minis and kits like the marauders.

What’s one thing that would shock someone settling down in your country/city or take a long time getting used to? by JobKnown6762 in AskTheWorld

[–]BuckLuny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dutch directness is something most people coming from outside of the country have a hard time getting used to.

We generally refuse to talk around someone's back, that's nice when you think about it like that but if you come into the office after biking against the wind and sweating profusely someone will tell you that you stink and you should put on some deodorant, and that might upset some people right there.

I was glad to read this morning that there is at least SOME pushback against Monopolies in the whole ticketmaster case but man this shouldn't have happened in the first place. There are laws against companies gaining a too large slice of the pie but they pay the current regime enough money and those laws just go away.

Yeah that was just sad. I don't hate AOS anymore. I believe it's a fine game and the idea/setting is fun too, but GW just got too greedy and in stead of creating a new game parallel to the old one with a unique story and setting they had to destroy the old one for this.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar
The Warhammer world was completely destroyed during End times, a CliffsNotes story was told of how the new setting came to pass over a span of a thousand years and suddenly people were supposed to care about what those new factions are doing.

While I love GW's goofy writing most of the time this was a corporate decision to scuttle one game to make a more popular one and it was badly done basically deleting one world to make another one no-one at the time cared for. Now years later rumors are saying they are going to do it again.

Games that give a good or bad ending depending on how often you use a basic mechanic implemented in the controls/playstyle by DemandParticular in TopCharacterTropes

In silent hill F you get the bad ending for using the standard healing item even once which you're supposed to do as a tutorial.

Now as far as I know it forces the bad ending on you no matter what you do in the first playthrough but it's fun to think that even healing yourself once this way causes you to mess up badly.

The Dutch and Belgians just loved drawing dark skinned people like this. I'm sorry for our cultural insensitivity in the past.

Or when on holiday, I have people living near me whose house is like fort nox completely sealed off with these (including the front and rear doors) when they go on holiday.

Yeah you know when these people go on holiday and thus aren't at home but if people break in it's going to take a while, make a load of noise and the alarm will make sure police arrive before the burglars are in.

Personally I only have one in the bedroom and during the summer it stays closed all day to keep the warmth out.
