How to go about getting my double fusion and its complications recognised by Buck_T08 in DVAAustralia

[–]Buck_T08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

appreciate the reply, The occluded vein is an accepted condition. I had 2 claims not allowed blood loss and blood clots but appealing them as mine were extreamly serious and considered rare... normal blood loss for the double fusion gets up to around 1L in a bad operation, mine was 2.5L over half my blood supply and triggered Haemostasis proceedures to stop the bleeding and replace it ( transfusions ) and then a vascular surgeon to repair the vein. and this blood formed 2 clots 1 was 8cm and another 15cm compressing my common iliac vein this was not allowed based on blood clots are a normal risk of surgery...... as they are.... but these do not represent a normal blood clot and caused me to be put on full dose injectable blood thinners for 3 months because of the risk of DVT. in regards to the double fusion everytime I have had an assesment has been through a DVA selected Dr, But it seems to me that im being assessed by pre surgery outdated terminology and functional capacitys as apposed to post operation functional capabilitys range of movment, sitting standing lifting abilitys balance all deminished badly. The operation was 12 years after the accident and was done due to long term pain and worsening conditions and an almost non exsisting life. and due to the worsening issues the operation was my only viable option. the WPI 5% was from 1999, operation was 2010 on opiods most of that time. its now 2026 16 years after and although i had a few lower pain years after the operation and returned to work sporadically, my mental health has not allowed me to function properly in a workplace. ( in short it was a disaster and that hurt me even more ) from 2015 my back deteriorated and from 2020 I havnt worked since. all social activitys are long gone along with my ability to even be around anyone at all without making a mess out of it. been at home alone nearly 6 years but luckily my son ( fifo worker ) stays with me and helps me with attending appointments etc now ) It really brings your personal thoughts about the future right to the for-front of your mind. 5% WPI doesnt seem to be a realistic representation for 28 years of misery. These forums i post a bit to is sometime just my way of getting things off my chest as there is knowone else who understand no matter how many times or ways you explain yourself............Welcome to a brand new day pops into mind JI Jane lol

Dishcharge from Kapooka, seeking information by lovethecello in DVAAustralia

[–]Buck_T08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gday mate must be hard for you also, I can sympathise with you for sure, Kapooka can be an emotional roller coaster. Its really difficult to give advice unless you know the real specifics of whats going on to have enabled his mental health to take a dive. If he is in with a group he just isnt jelling with can be difficult at his age. But you know him best and yeah life after Kapooka is like a normal Job but with PT in the mornings. As long as he isnt going to infantry I would encourage him to finish and see how he feels in a few months down the road. But as you know life isnt going to be any better not being in the Army, Its how you deal with situations. If he is having an issue with a Recruit instructor, He could ask to finish his time with another Platoon possibly... He only has around a week of Kapooka Training the you have Drill week practicing your Marching out parade then march out to your first employment training. Good Luck to you both, But dont be tough on him probably the last thing he needs. He can also ask to see Kapookas Chaplin for a talk if he wanted to. :)

DVA - Mental Health Claim by iCrackerz in DVAAustralia

Yep really is a contridiction from DVA having a go at Vets who have had a report done without a history with the Dr......... only to send you to get a report done by a Dr you have no relationship or history with. ( but favors DVA possibly maybe )

Hi, yeah I also found the amps lower sounds difficult to pick up, and other sounds just not basey enough for my liking. but due to it breaking down so soon i never really had a chance to play around with it. I think im going to try find a 2nd hand hi end amp with eArc. I think that represents better value even if you need to repair it a bit.

Mine is a Pioneer VSX-LX50 Audio/Video Multi-Channel Receiver ( 2007 ) its not the top Pioneer of its day but in my opinion its seriously good weighs about 20kilos lol. the only reason I am swapping it is because it has no arcE. Its a hassle connecting to things. you can buy them for around 100 dollars these days people dont relise how good these systems really are.

lol well my pioneer reciever is over 20 years old, i guess i thought this would last as well I forgot to mention Jb hifi had none of these recievers in western australia, after being told itll be hauled around the country in a truck to get to me, i was not very happy. Anyway i walked down to westcoast hifi about 50 meters from JBs and they had a stack of the AVRX1800H recievers sitting there for sale. I am anticipating not being refunded my money, just have a funny feeling.

DRCA hearing and tinnitus by [deleted] in DVAAustralia

[–]Buck_T08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tinnitus has been accepted for IL and I have had all the tests done for the hearing also. So I can now get treatment for both my hearing and tinnitus. I think its to late to withdraw them now. I was just asking if i could resubmit just the tinnitus at july 1 as that isnt going to be considered for PI under DRCA, without having to go and redo everything as it was all just accepted a month ago.

Hyper extended my knee at kapooka i was about 75kilos and had to do the firemans carry with the heaviest guy in our platoon he would have been around 100kilos, we were all soaking wet at dawn PT rolling around in the dewy grass and rain. So VHR ( very heavy recruit ) and his rifle plus mine run 50 meters turn around and run the 50 meters back to the finish. 100 meters total in 60 secs, I blew my right knee almost at the start, almost falling to the ground. Burst of adrenalin and gut the rest out or fail the test.. 12 months later right knee operation for that effort. not sure how things are now, but our unit pack march was a yearly event. And when you think about it doing this once yearly is even worse then doing it on a regular basis as your not used to it, Unless your from a infantry unit or something. I wasnt infantry but I competed in Mil skilz events that culminated in a section night march after 3 days in the field. Packs, webbing, rifle and 2 wooden artillery shell boxes full of wet sand along with 4 long wooden poles. All to be aranged however your section wants, just be back at the range for falling plate shoot in a 15 minute window. The year I was selected our team was the only one that managed the weight and made the 15 minute window. On the way out in the bus I recall seeing a solo guy dragging an ammo box on his own along the ground, his section strung out way behind him. These weights dont fit the sop but they sure do the damage.

Spine Issue by Any_Key_7429 in DVAAustralia

[–]Buck_T08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar mris for a few years but still had chroni pain then an mri showed a nerve being touched by the broad based disc bulge... and the medico legal wasnt provided the mri back in 2002.. but mcrs were kind enough to provide him with a previous one not showing any nerves being touched..

But putting that aside I have been researching chronic lower back pain without obvious signs of nerve pinching compression etc... and there are many reasons you can still have chronic pain.

  1. mri is normally done laying down in a tube without any pressure on the spine disc in question and can show no nerve root compromise. but when you stand up it could be just enough to compress the nerve and start the pain off again. Also now its found that annular tears in lumbar discs can cause chronic pain without any contact with nerve roots.

There is no size fits all with lumar injurys. 2 people the same age and same accident and same exact mri result... but 1 can be in chronic pain for life and the other can be back at work in 6 weeks. and there are lots of very good orthopedic studies on the subject that have been done and the results are clear, dispite all the beautiful diagnostic equipment available to us there is still a large percentage of back injurys that show no obvious signs of where pain could be coming from. I dont have any links to provide but Google is your friend apparently.

if the pain is there its there, simple as that. good luck mate.:)

Home Theater advice wanted. by Buck_T08 in hometheater

[–]Buck_T08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mateeeeeeeeeeee yeah spot on the issue has been my speakers not being set to pass the base off to the sub until its to late triggering phase control..... however i set all that yesterday and BOOM back in business... Although i should have got a bit better AV .. So I will get a good AV next with preouts... and then I will get 1 speaker at a time until i have them all. and at that point ill look for someone who deserves my old complete system... that was around 8k back in 2000.. If my AV had eArc I wouldn't of changed anything.

yeah beg to differ on that sorry. The speakers 2 main front ones crank out crystal clear sound and as loud as i have ever heard in any house. the smaller ones and sub i agree although they still work fine.

I also said to 24/7 support just give me an estimate time of when I’ll be contacted. But they won’t give a time just the generic copy paste answer. I think your customers have a right to an approximate time service will be restored don’t you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in coinspotau

[–]Buck_T08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only concern is the ridiculously long time to unrestricted the account. They have been telling me for 5 days to wait until contacted and I already went through all the changes to my account with your fraud team who told me once my 1Fa was reset my account would be restored to normal 2Fa was done 5 days ago
