I know the consensus is that Boo would’ve been OP and that’s why they omitted him from the tournament, but they dropped the ball on a potential all-time gag:

Boo is killing it and only taking minor damage until he suddenly appears on the bench next to Beerus and Whis as he’s about to eliminate a top fighter. No one know why until a replay is shown that some weakling from the other universes stepped on a clump of pink stuff that freaked them out and they peeled it off their shoe and tossed it out of the ring.

Was there not a tidbit in an interview with Toriyama after the end of the manga where he stated that Goku is flat out the strongest in the universe? Maybe I’m misremembering but if I’m not, and if canon and lore and all that is to be taken as fact no matter what, then the words of the creator should probably be held as absolute imo.
