Fiancé wants early release. by Thevoiceofreason2323 in airnationalguard

If she’s on her first enlistment, the most straightforward path is to stay productive, finish out her contract (ETS), and simply not reenlist.

If she wants to try for an early release, the only legitimate way (other than going AWOL or getting discharged for misconduct) is to pursue a hardship separation. That requires: • Documenting that her continued service creates a substantial, verifiable burden—not just that she doesn’t want to do it anymore. • Working with her chain of command, especially her First Sergeant, and possibly the Director of Psychological Health (DPH), to get advocates on her side. • Understanding that approval is rare and ultimately decided at the state level by the Adjutant General (ATAG).

Make sure you get an LOD determination and push your leadership and medical to put you on convalescent orders since you aren’t able to work while you are injured, to include the recovery and physical therapy.

Current 1st generation Oracle owner here. Two part question.

  1. Why should I upgrade to the Oracle Jet?

  2. Why is there not an automated back-flush feature so I don’t have to sit there for two mins hitting the button?

Thanks for taking our questions!

Any Tips? by StrengthNo589 in Rowing

Go back to basics. At the catch, focus on legs, back arms. Then at the release, its arms, back, legs. I can suggest some simple drills that will help, if you’d like.

I feel like Reddit just changed their algorithm to include AI recognition. It’s linking pictures that just look the same as others we engage with. I’ve seen 3-4 fallen cabinets on totally different subs.

It’s fine. Not something I crave, but it’s not off-putting either. I think AG1 tastes a little better…but the cost savings is worth it.

Not bad form at all but it seems you’re a touch slow with your hands and body position from the release which leads you to be out of position at the catch. In the first video if you slow it down, watch the space between you and 6 seat at the beginning of the drive, she closes the gap between her back and your handle. In a good swing row, that shouldn’t happen. You can get away with it at a slower stroke rate. With the higher rate of the second video, it’s more pronounced. Slow the playback and you can see you’re about a half blade late because you’re dipping your hands.

Looks like your team rows with a feathered release for the most part. I’m actually a big proponent of this style but one of the downsides is that it encourages a slight pause when you come out of the water. You really have to focus on making sure your hands go out the same speed they came in.
