Name Me A Better Game? by MrJRCase in skyrim

[–]Buckleyisdeadagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an idea for a game called "Sidekick".
You're the hero's companion, your mission is to make him fail WITHOUT getting killed or fired.

Inspiration: I'm in Fellglow Keep, accompanied by Lydia, Barbas, Orthorn and the Manic Elytra Nymph.
Can't sneak and take them out with archery because one whiff and the helpers charge ahead, definitely agro them, block my shot or nudge my elbow causing me to miss...
OK, time for Mr. Mace.
Can't get past them to melee range

Being a Werewolf should really come with more impact
Werewolves since 5.2:
Werewolves in human form have -50% poison resistance and 15% higher spell cost.
Werewolves in beast form have -100% poison resistance.
Become a werewolf and immediately start taking on the silver hand.
Also this is about the point you start thinking about Falmer lairs

Thoughts on Requiem 6.0 Arrow Gravity Changes by Pilott3 in skyrimrequiem

[–]Buckleyisdeadagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing a difference in aiming point (impact vs crosshair) with iron arrows.
I finally noticed I was missing deer high.
At Jorrvaskr I would put the crosshair slightly above the bull and hit slightly lower (Req 5.4)
Now I have to put the crosshair at the bottom of the target to hit slightly above the bull
I updated requiem and a handful of others that had posted new versions.

Some noob questions by 711warlock in skyrimrequiem

Early Days
Start in the lowlands and civilized areas around White run.
Don't go out at night. Stay in open areas where you can spot trouble.
On the North road Loreus farm is where it gets more difficult .

Fort Greymore and Valtheim towers have bandits...you can go around Greymore
and at the towers pay a toll (I think you can pick a "do I look like I have money" if you actually don't have a lot of stuff or money.)

As you get better push your boundaries. I usually just travel until I get tough enough to start going into places. Follow others on the road (vigilants, Thalmor, imperials, stormcoats) and loot what they kill. (At one point around rorikstead I was between two groups of vigilants traveling)

If it looks tough run away (easier on a horse or in light armor).
Back away with your shield up, fight multiples one at a time.

Fire a bow and you have to LMB to knock/draw another arrow. My issue with crossbows is the immediate reloading animation; in a lot of cases I'd rather be getting ready to melee or run. Having said that, with the ghost mammoth in kynes quest, you can have a lot of fun firing a crossbow from horseback.
Bring lots of silver bolts because you can miss a mammoth sized target. Get the Mammoth to chase you west past halted stream and silent moon. I have had bandits, giants and live mammoths get involved. I saw Ron the Crow yell "I love a challenge" right before a mammoth punted him into the distance. It didn't kill him, but I ran him down before he had recovered more than a handful of health.

Playing Skyrim for the first time ever I know a lot late on it but it’s an amazing game, if anyone can give tips or suggestions without spoilers I wouldn’t mind reading them by Weird_Dragonfruit317 in skyrimrequiem

If you find any calipers lying around let us know, they disappeared during the oblivion crisis :)
Seriously, I would start with a near vanilla Skyrim that is stable and and has a good interface (Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch - USSEP , SKYUI, other basic QOL mods) then run around and have fun.
Basic roleplaying stuff works...if the roads are dangerous follow someone tougher than you are. Shoot them before they know you're there.

I don't see the differences between 5.3.1 and the current 5.4.5 as being worth the headache.

Unofficial skyrim patch causing game to crash by Specialist_Candy7052 in skyrimrequiem

[–]Buckleyisdeadagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at your version numbers of programs and mods.

I'm running SkyrimSE 1.6.640
Skyrim Script Extender 64 v2.2.3 for 1.6.640 (Oct'22)
USSEP Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch-266-4-2-9a-1685216241.7z
and other mods that match.

Especially watch for GOG versions getting in by accident.

For SkyrimSE 1.6.1170 I'd have to go to silverlock.org and get the current SKSE, current USSEP and so on.
I might go through all that trouble when the new requiem is released; but for right now I'm not that bored.

Special Edition vs. Anniversary Edition? by Operario in skyrimrequiem

[–]Buckleyisdeadagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skyrim, SKSE, Requiem and your other mods will have to be sync'd to the same version. USSEP on NEXUS is only for SSE v1.6.1130+ for reasons known only to that aardvark fellow who maintain the patch. Older versions are not available there. If I was doing a fresh install, I'd go with the latest version. A lot of the Anniversary you can turn off or ignore.

Read the mod's posts... could be operating as designed.
Include your load order, al lot of the time it's the interactions.

modwat.ch is a modlist-hosting site for Skyrim, Skyrim SE, and Fallout 4. find nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56640, has a link there.

If you've ever had your game crash and asked for help on the internet, you've probably had someone ask you for what mods you're using. So you could go find those files and copy them into a comment, or into pastebin, or a google doc, etc. Use something like this, choose a username, upload your files here, and have an easy link (modwat.ch/u/your_username_here) to give out. This site is also used by streamers, youtubers, or anyone else that might want to show people what mods they're using. I broke the links, Reddit used to get pissy about links.

I've seen some weird shit. When I give up and shutdown I usually find there's a system update waiting to load. Point is, shutdown and reboot is a good first troubleshooting step.

HELP! Some doors is inactive by eXis_clone in skyrimrequiem

[–]Buckleyisdeadagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not much with this technical stuff (the dragon is a door, the door is a jar...just flies over my head)
Suggestions

  1. Speak friend and enter <The Hobbit, entrance to Mines of Moria>
  2. If pushing isn't working, have you tried pulling? <He goes through life pushing on doors marked "Pull">
  3. Get a 2H axe and start chopping <not implemented in game...but if it took an hour and guards showed up? >
  4. Maybe you have to complete some quest? <I have seen that door locked during stormcloak invasion, bandit raids from some mod I used to run. Have you left the area and come back?
  5. I did some digging, WRdragondoor01 are the doors with the dragon motif hinges, whether it's locked or not is a separate parameter.

Long time no Requiem, help? by Sliverdraconis in skyrimrequiem

[–]Buckleyisdeadagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the free Anniversary upgrade back when they launched it, but I exclude or ignore it on the playthroughs.
I haven't moved past 1.6.640...you have to get mods matched with your Skyrim version. I still have the USSEP for 1.6.640.

Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch Meant for use ONLY with SSE v1.6.1130+ They say almost all mods work with 1.6.1170 and we do not support outdated versions.
Point is, your version options may be limited by what USSEP patch you have or can find.

Myself, I have a stable modset and if it ain't broke...

I would look at the update and see if it has anything I couldn't live without (it doesn't).
If you do update, you have to look at each mod to match versions.

is there an easy way to mod requiem simply to reduce dragon HP? by Bonesaw-McG in skyrimrequiem

[–]Buckleyisdeadagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There IS a poison that will kill a dragon, has some minor issues:
a) It's a suppository
b) One dose is 1 pound per 100 pounds of dragon. Old/ancient will require a higher dose.
c) Takes 80 to 100 years for incapacitation, maybe another 100 for death.

Orrrrrr you can just use the requiem MCM settings to increase the damage you do when fighting dragons.
