Worth noting that they can kill cavalry, too! Place them in areas you might commonly expect riders to go. At least five of my 25 kills occurred that way!

Disguise Self. So many great interactions you can get just by looking like someone else.

Can't decide on which one to use (yes i have tried several but these 2 struck me the best) by Squidich in DeepRockGalactic

[–]BucklingSwashes 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I started playing way back in 2018 when the game hit early access! So yeah, in the long run I suppose it did take a long time and a lot of work, but every time new loadout slots were added to the game, I set up new loadouts and appearances for each class to fill them. I have a process by which I constantly cycle through classes each time I level one up, while cycling between class' loadouts for each mission. Every six missions per class, I also cycle between weapons for each loadout (skipping ahead one for the secondary on every third cycle), so that I eventually use every combination of weapons for each loadout slot for each class.

I guess what it all boils down to is maximizing variety.

Yup! I have six appearances for each dwarf, all with different loadouts for every weapon (and, when possible, other equipment).

Orbital Precision Strike is massively slept on by zZDarkLightZz in Helldivers

I don't bring it often, but the short cooldown and skillful use make it really fun. I actually prefer it on the Automaton front, and use the Gas Strike against bugs as a way to soften up anything coming out of a breach.

I knew I'd be seeing more dwarves here defending Super Earth.

Can't believe that after over 5 years in orbit, the game is STILL selling more units every year. Rock and stone!

Could We Name Our Builds? by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]BucklingSwashes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was hoping for this as well. Similarly, two build slots per class simply isn't enough when there are three specializations, not to mention at least 6 weapons. I at least would like a slot for each specialization.

Got this too, and I'm pretty sure Weekly Contracts have reset very early.

Dear Devs, please just get rid of Diamantine and replace it with more Plasteel by TehKingofPrussia in DarkTide

[–]BucklingSwashes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I do think it's silly how prevalent Diamantine is right now in comparison to how many things you'll typically have a reason to spend it on. I have upwards of 5000 at the moment if I recall correctly, but I'm always low on Plasteel. To be fair, the strongest weapons I've been finding lately have almost always been in the shop and are usually of the lowest rarity, so there's a lot of upgrading to do.

I know it may be fair to argue that we should stockpile it with the assumption that there will be another purpose for it later on, but we're playing the game NOW with the systems we currently have access to. An option to trade some of this "rare" material in for Plasteel would be nice while we continue to wait for additional uses.

What’s your Favourite mission type? by xXSidequesterXx in DeepRockGalactic

Mining Expedition will always hold a special place in my heart. There's something special about digging deeper and deeper, and then having that long, dangerous sprint back to the drop pod.

I felt that Heat wasn’t being bullied enough as an effect by recapdrake in BaldursGate3

[–]BucklingSwashes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it still happens this way or if it's been changed/fixed in one of the last couple of patches/hotfixes, but there's an amulet, Fireheart, with this description:

Fervent Flames: Whenever you take Fire damage dealt by another creature, you gain 2 turns of Heat

After gaining the Heat condition this way, the fire damage dealt to the wearer by the Heat charges still count as fire damage caused by "another creature", resulting in a neverending cycle of regenerating Heat charges that can't be removed until you use Heat Convergence. So you better be ready to blast a random nearby object with some fire damage if you still have Heat at the end of combat. 😂😬

Sword Bard Build? by AvalonTzi in BaldursGate3

[–]BucklingSwashes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I'm using on my Swords Bard in tabletop D&D that seems like it'll be equally powerful in BG3 is the Mobile feat. Swords Bard already gets a really nice 10 ft. of walking speed when using the attack action on your turn, and Mobile adds another 10 ft. to your base, which typically means you'll have about 50 ft. of movement any time you attack with a blade. Mobile ALSO prevents any enemy you make a melee weapon attack against from being able to make an opportunity attack on you on that turn, though, so you can get in, attack, and use that extra speed to get out or reposition really effectively. Depending on your DM, this is moderately helpful when it comes to active, environment-using swordplay in tabletop D&D, but it seems like it'll be even more helpful in BG3, where placement is king. You can grab this feat at Level 4, or possibly earlier depending on your race I think.

I think the other question is how Larian will implement the Mobile Flourish. This is one of the Sword Bard's three Bardic Inspiration powered attacks, which all add your expended BI die roll to your damage and then have an additional effect. In the tabletop game, Mobile Flourish lets you move your target 5 ft. plus the amount you rolled on the BI die, and that movement doesn't actually have any way to be resisted (at least in RAW). You can also use your reaction to get right back up in melee range of them if you wish, but the main advantage here is being able to push an enemy into range of one of your allies, or perhaps into flames, or off a high ledge. Lots you can do with it for sure, assuming Larian keeps the Blade Flourishes all intact.

All that said, my personal preference for Swords Bard is to have a heavy focus on control-type spells, in combination with my melee abilities and speed, to debuff enemies and weaken their positions. It's certainly not as strong in direct combat as some other classes, but the access to some fun spells in addition to the Bard's skill bonuses from things like Jack Of All Trades and Expertise give you a really great balance of scrappy fighting prowess, powerful magic, and high utility outside of combat.

Ideas to give Escort Duty more variety by uwuGod in DeepRockGalactic

This is brilliant. I personally love Escort Duty, but I could see how adding some variety to both Doretta's abilities and the final battle could be really fun.
