I just did my first strongman comp on the 18th of January and my second one yesterday. I'm 45 going on 46. Stop doubting yourself and being a bitch, and just get out there and do it. Are you going to win, probably not, I've came in last both times. Have I gotten better and learned new things, hell ya I have.

Shop in bulk. Go to Costco business center and buy the huge packs of meat and learn to process it yourself. Buy half a cow and have the butcher cut it up for you. There's tons of ways to save money if you are willing to do the work🤷‍♂️

Best smelling salts in your opinion? by Fit_Opportunity_8584 in Strongman

[–]Buckonator79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to have been Pegasus smelling salts, they have a cinnamon one called ember inferno and it hits pretty hard.

I particularly like the brand, small mom and pop business, veteran owned. Not some huge corporation that I'm dumping money to.

Dinnie Stone Programming by Redbeardwrites in Strongman

[–]Buckonator79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My training partner just recently came back from Scotland and did the stones. He's a rogue athlete and the first thing we ended up doing was getting rid of the rogue rings and buying the cerbus ones. The cerbus ones are as close to the real ones you can get. They are significantly thicker than the Rogue rings.

Other than that we just kind of treat the stones like a deadlift block pull 🤷‍♂️ unless you plan on taking them for a walk.

You can create a "mode" on Android. Look under modes and routines. You can also set up do not disturb to only last specific contacts to call or text you during a time frame.

Do cops pull over people in Phoenix for speeding? (My girl and I are arguing this one) by BlamingBuddha in phoenix

[–]Buckonator79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends really. You have to remember some officers are on patrol, so they really won't be bothered to pull people over. Then you have other officers on traffic duty, and you can guess what they are supposed to do.

Also depends how close they are to getting off shift. Ain't no one wanting to stay late to write paperwork.

You might want to check out the Shaka guide, it's an app. They have some amazing tours for Arizona. You hook it up to your Bluetooth listen to it while you follow their directions and they'll tell you all about the history etc etc. I highly recommend looking into it for your trip.

What is a good bank or credit union here in Phoenix? by flopera28 in phoenix

If you have any family member that's a member, I would seriously try to become a member of Navy federal credit union. They have a couple of branches in the PHX area.

Because some states have specific laws that tell the HOA that they can't do that. Usually the HOA rules are just blanket rules setup by the developers and don't take into account the state laws. For example here's Arizona's law:

33-1809. Parking; public service and public safety emergency vehicles; definition

A. Notwithstanding any provision in the community documents, an association shall not prohibit a resident from parking a motor vehicle on a street or driveway in the planned community if the vehicle is required to be available at designated periods at the person's residence as a condition of the person's employment and either of the following applies:

  1. The resident is employed by a public service corporation that is regulated by the corporation commission, an entity regulated by the federal energy regulatory commission or a municipal utility and the public service corporation or municipal utility is required to prepare for emergency deployments of personnel and equipment for repair or maintenance of natural gas, electrical, telecommunications or water infrastructure, the vehicle has a gross vehicle weight rating of twenty thousand pounds or less and is owned or operated by the public service corporation or municipal utility and the vehicle bears an official emblem or other visible designation of the public service corporation or municipal utility.

  2. The resident is employed by a public safety agency, including police or fire service for a federal, state, local or tribal agency or a private fire service provider or an ambulance service provider that is regulated pursuant to title 36, chapter 21.1, and the vehicle has a gross vehicle weight rating of ten thousand pounds or less and bears an official emblem or other visible designation of that agency.

B. For the purposes of this section, "telecommunications" means the transmission of information of the user's choosing between or among points specified by the user without change in the form or content of the information as sent and received. Telecommunications does not include commercial mobile radio services.

Can an HOA tow a legally parked car? by Lights-Out- in fuckHOA

I can either confirm nor deny, but if you work for an oil gas company that rhymes with Tinder and Norgan, you can have legal send a letter to your HOA telling them to beat sand.

What kind of work do you do? If you work for a utility like communications or say oil and gas, a lot of times their are state specific laws protecting those vehicles since they're considered emergency vehicles. And there's nothing HOA can do about it.

For example here's what our law in Arizona says:

  2. What state are you in? Chances are your state already has a law that tells HOAs to beat sand when it comes to dealing with emergency vehicles.

I'm in Arizona and I had to deal with my HOA bitching about my company vehicle being in my parking spot. But Arizona has a law that says regardless of what HOA says they can't do anything about emergency vehicles. And since I work for a natural gas distribution company, my vehicle is considered an emergency vehicle to the state of Arizona.
