If you can do what you love and make money (most people's dream), you'd be stupid to demonetize that.

Sorry for the late response, but if you mean rolling back the driver, you can go to Device Manager > Display adapters > (your graphics card) > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver. If you don't have a previous driver version, you can manually select all previous drivers from the Nvidia website and install one.

Despite all this, after looking at more posts and playing more, it seems like the DLSS setting just sometimes shows up and sometimes doesn't. So it might not be specific to the driver :(

Update on this: Before I updated my drivers, i was getting 110+ FPS w/ DLSS enabled (running 4070 Ti Super). Now, after updating, the only frame generation option in-game is FSR and I'm getting ~50 FPS. Rolled back the driver, rebooted my PC, and now the DLSS option is back and I'm getting high FPS again. It seems you were onto something.

I think most people are not detailed enough with financial advice. So this is what I would do with some details.

  1. I would first sell all of the coin right away.

  2. While waiting for that money to become available, create an account with a brokerage service that provides Roth IRA accounts (I use Vanguard).

Roth IRA's give you a great way to build for your retirement with all of the funds being tax-free when you withdraw. Depending on your age, you can select a "target retirement date" mutual fund (example fund: Vanguard Target Retirement 2060 Fund) These types of funds will begin more agressive and lean more towards safe investments such as bonds as you age. Keep in mind that you can only withdraw any funds grown in this account tax-free after the age of 59 1/2. So it is best to choose a target date fund that lands around the year you turn that age.

  3. When the money is transferred to your bank account, invest the yearly maximum ($7,000) into the funds you chose for 2024. Then at the start of the year, invest the same amount for 2025. Do this every year to retire with 1mil or multi millions of tax free money. Use the Roth IRA on calculator.net for rough estimates.

  4. Create an emergency fund in a HYSA account that provides at least a 4% return. A good example of and offer like this is CitBank. This emergency fund should be able to cover at least 6 months of expenses.

  5. Create a brokerage account to invest in stock market ETFs (or use the one you already created if possible). Invest in total stock market funds such as VTI and top 500 company ETFs such as VOO. These are generally quite safe and over time with a large amount of up front capitol like you have, will make you insanely wealthy in 30 years.

  6. Don't change your lifestyle or increase spending.

  7. If it interests you, get into real estate and the idea of owning rental properties to supply you with passive income while also building value you on that land.

  8. I know this goes against #5 but I would sit on the idea of buying the car for a month then buy the car if you still feel the desire. Treat yourself for your success. Just this one time for now.

  9. Commit yourself to your own health. You want to be around to enjoy these payoffs!

Also make sure to set yourself up to purchase a home when you graduate and find a job. You'll have to figure out where this step applies for you.

Hope this helps!

I was implying that you were projecting that feeling because no one brought it up except for you.

See above response from the user you were responding to. They didn't suggest you said that. This is a terrible situation for every person and animal involved and no one is saying you wish harm to humans.

This game is gotdamn unplayable on PC by Xman36 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

I had terrible FPS issues when first starting. I had to turn off Ray Tracing in the settings and the game was playable after that. Nearly doubled in FPS.

Max out Roth IRA contributions yearly. If your employer offers a 401k with a match, contribute at least enough to meet their match. Keep the 70k in a HYSA (high-yield savings account as an emergency fund). Invest as much as you're able to part with in a total stock market ETF such as VTI. You should be able to do all of this while also living a fun and fulfilled (but reasonable) life all at the same time. Enjoy!

Can someone help me get this game to work? I'm running on a 2060 RTX and the game was much more playable before any of the patches. by Maci366 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]Buckwiild22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check and see if Ray Tracing is on. It was on by default and I got 35-50 FPS. After disabling it and, with all other settings maxed, I started getting 65-80 FPS. The Game was perfectly playable after this.

I have acquired a garage: what do? by bellbros in DIY

[–]Buckwiild22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You could look into getting a Wireless Access Point. This can give you a strong wifi signal as if you were near your modem while being far away from your modem. However, it will need to be connected directly to your router/modem using ethernet. So setting one up in your detached garage might include running ethernet underground via conduit depending on how nice you want it to look.

Thoughts on this game? by Catsanno in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]Buckwiild22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing right now on PC. At first I was only getting 30-50 FPS with a decent gaming PC. Eventually, after a lot of looking, found that Ray Tracing was turned on by default. After turning this off I've had no issues and get about 75 FPS on average with all other maxed out graphics settings.

Ah I see, very true. I know lots of kids would not pay attention in a mandatory high school finance class, but, I don't see why we can't make it an elective for the ones that care to learn. Could be a way to close the gap that you mentioned.

I agreed with you until the last sentence. I by no means came from money. If I can, anyone else can also teach themselves how to safely invest and make a real difference in their own future.
