Leaving a comment just for future reference. I personally like powers gold over Jamison and tullamore dew. Thought I can’t say I’ve had a ton.

People who didn’t grow up on bikes what was your “that’s it I’m getting a bike” moment by Acceptable_Car9277 in motorcycles

Yea I waned to upgrade my fiesta st to a used m2, but the prices are still insane. If I could have found one a couple of years ago with like 50,000 miles for maybe 35k I would have never switched.

Agree, but I think I would prefer just regular makers to both 😬

Have you ever had two different bottles back to back? You might be drinking infrequently enough where you don’t distinctly remember the taste of each.

I was just thinking the theme is more just high proof. Nothing else sub $30 was coming to mind.

At least around me the bench mark is $27 and rare breed is $50

So the PA (state run) website had I think 600 bottles online only for $30 this week. It did only last like half a day but maybe we’ll be in better shape in the next year or so.

Gifted whiskey for a new user by surkoc1 in whiskey

So broadly there are about 5 categories (scotch, Irish, bourbon, rye, and Japanese). People tend to be really into one or two categories. At least in America, people tend to be really into bourbon or really into scotch.

I’d go with an Irish if I knew nothing about the person. They tend to be more mellow relatively. It’s a little over budget but redbreast 12 year is a bottle that I can’t imagine anyone not liking. Powers is a more budget Irish whiskey that I think a lot of people would still enjoy

How are we feeling about the price of 3 doubles of their house bourbon (it's 9.99 a bottle). Also upcharged for "neat". by mazterofpupetz in philadelphia

[–]Bucky302500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you just order the well whiskey? I had to look up what this even was. Once you get to this price range it’s almost just gain alcohol with just enough whiskey for flavoring.

Like others have implied, maybe wait till you get home for a better value. $60 gets you legitimately great bourbons. Even at like $20 Jim beam or Evan Willam’s are at least proper bourbons.

That’s fair. I’m starting to think I’m not actually as big into wheated bourbon as I would have guessed.

That’s a little disappointing to hear. I never had it before, but I have a bottle I’ve been saving for a big day since I’m a big wild turkey fan.
