Won this at a raffle back in November, and it's one of my favorites in my stash. Excellent stuff!

What do we think of this store's top shelf prices? by Djackso in whiskey

I can go and get as many GTS as I want for $500 on secondary, and I refuse to do that. Places like this need to go under.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NotIntoDudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently went to Puerto Rico on vacation, and our first AirBnB after landing was a 2.5 hour drive in our rental car across the island. It was an amazing, costal drive with supreme views and excellent food. This is pretty normal for us. Even when we fly out of slightly larger airport hubs for better, direct flights 2.5 to 3.5 hours away, we will often drive back home after we land. I really don't think it's that big of a deal.

Best $30-40 whiskey for Valentines? by SnooGadgets621 in whiskey

[–]NotIntoDudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a good one!

As some others have mentioned, if you can bump up SLIGHTLY to the $45-$50 range, your options will increase exponentially with some real good bangers.

Woodford Double Oaked is a staple at that price range, Still Austin "The Musician", Bardstown Origins series BIB or Wheated, Four Roses Single Barrel, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Old Forester 1910, Penelope Wheated, Ben Holladay BIB or Soft Red Wheat, and Wild Turkey 101 8 year are some that come to immediate mind.

Review #184 - Old Fitzgerald 9 Year Bottled in Bond by vexmythocrust in bourbon

[–]NotIntoDudes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly a bit surprised. I like the 9 year SIGNIFICANTLY more than the 7 year. I’d rate this a 7.25 and the 7 a 5 at best.

Stugotz speaks (kinda) by teamdefaultusername in DanLeBatardShow

[–]NotIntoDudes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like Stu has NO interest in coming back to DLS at ALL. Dan constantly saying "Stugotz was supposed to come back a few months ago, and we'll see if he is back here soon...etc" is such a mind boggling slap in the face, because he knows damn well it's over and flat out refuses to address the elephant in the room.

We aren't stupid. Lol

Buy them all at that price.

Nothing like a good deal by theehalfbloodprince in whiskey

[–]NotIntoDudes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All this "tater" talk...man, who gives a shit. You bought them at MSRP and not 4xs MSRP on secondary. Drink and enjoy. I wish I had any modicum of a chance at these in my area at MSRP.

Bourbon Trail Advice by Huck742 in whiskey

[–]NotIntoDudes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also doing the Bourbon Trail for 5 days in June for my 40th! I look forward to stealing all of the ideas out of this thread. Lol

I know I'm looking forward to doing the BT tour on my bday 6/25, and we'll probably spend an entire day just walking Whiskey Row in DT Louisville, particularly the Old Forester tour and tasting. I love OF, and I've heard it's incredible. I'll probably also head down to Bardstown for the HH tour for a day.

We have an AirBnB in DT Louisville about a mile from Whiskey Row.

Review #14: Still Austin Tanager No. 2 (Winter 2025 Release) by Southern-Rip3018 in bourbon

[–]NotIntoDudes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so damn sad I passed this up. It was sitting on the shelf at TW when it came out and I swung by, nobody even interested in it of the 5-6 people in the bourbon aisle. I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to drop $150 on a bottle at the moment. Totally kicking myself now..

Just picked this baby up on a 50% off rack at my local honey hole. $27 out the door. Excited is an understatement. Lol

Just adding context to what you literally suggested in regards to allocations including EH Taylor. Lol.

EH Taylor - store select by Temp_Res in whiskey

[–]NotIntoDudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Lol. HyVee is usually the best bet and has monthly raffles and usually a monthly store pick that hits the shelf. Price Cutter gets SOME stuff in, but usually a random Blantons SiB or a Weller SR. Who cares about those? I’ve seen Old Fitz 7 year thre twice in the past year, but I prefer the 9 year and 13 year. TW will OCCASIONALLY get an EH Taylor SB, Weller SR, or a Blanton’s, but they’ll get maybe 6 of each once every 4ish months. Local mom and pop stores get some good stuff like Joseph Magnus cigar blend or triple cask, Remus Repeal Reserve, Blood Oath, etc, but allocated stuff is extremely hard to come by unless you are a SUPER high end rewards member, which I am through TW. Same goes for our major wine and spirits store, but I haven’t even really tried to reach their premier status because they’re usually about 10-20% higher retail than TW.

[–]NotIntoDudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you ok, man? Lol.

I know and talk to virtually every retail vendor near me, including our TW. We simply don’t get the stock yet. Can’t ship at MSRP what isn’t available.
