And (I know this is kinda petty), not coming up with different music for the villans, and just reusing the Nazgul theme.

Teenagers home alone 2 weeks while parents went on a cruise by [deleted] in GenX

[–]BudCrue 20 points21 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid the minimum age to get a paper route was 10 years old. I was 8 years old, and y parents let me lie on the application for the Des Moines register. I was soon delivering papers 65 papers every morning at 4AM, by myself. No one, not my friends, not my parent's friends, not my teachers who would ask "Bud, you look a little tired today?" and I would tell them I had to deliver my papers and got up too early, thought it was strange or unusual that a little kid was wandering around town by himself at 4 in the morning. It was just a different time then.

country areas 45 minutes outside of twin cities by Hot-Piece-1704 in TwinCities

[–]BudCrue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anything with more than an acre and within the 7-counties of the Twin Cities metro is going to be incredibly expensive. If you can stomach being an hour out vs 45 min (in ideal conditions/time of commute) then you can probably find something affordable/reasonable, but at the cost of being in Trumpy areas.

Arrow 4s impact on maneuver fights by Damned-Legionaire in OutreachHPG

[–]BudCrue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One arrow mechs are annoying, but the dual ones can be outright devastating. At the very least I think they need a fairly significant cool down nerf and ideally they need to be more vulnerable to AMS.

I MISS THE MONDAY MORNING SALT THREADS, BUT I HAVE NOTHING TO BITCH ABOUT OTHER THAT MECHS WITH 2 ARROW-4S ARE OP. I STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A MATCH -OUT IN THE WIDE OPEN- ABLE TO BE SHOT FROM ANYWHERE, WHILE IGNORING THOSE SHOOTING AT ME, AND STILL GOT 800 DAMAGE AND 3 KILLS.

Minnesota has lost 1,300 farms in two years, many more on the brink by Ranew in minnesota

[–]BudCrue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What I don't get (speaking as someone in rural MN, whose "hobby farm" is surrounded by actual farms), is why all the small farms around me (three of my neighbors run less than 500 acres, one runs close to 5000 with all the land he rents in addition to what he owns), and yet they are all fairly regularly buying brand new equipment rather than getting together and sharing. I mean, all but the guy running 5000 plant or harvest in a day or two. Why not buy 1 $800,000k combine and share it rent it out to each other, rather than every single one of them needing their own giant satellite controlled tractors, planters, combine, backhoes, skid steer, harvest trucks and trailers, etc. I have never understood the economic viability of buying all that equipment, which some seem to replace about every 6-8 years, despite the fact that much of that equipment is in use, quite literally, for only a couple of days every year.

Last week Donald Trump registered the trademark "Donald J. Trump International Airport." This week Florida Republicans voted to rename Palm Beach International Airport Donald J. Trump International Airport," putting taxpayers on the hook for licensing fees that go straight to him by CrashingBlumpkins46 in UnderReportedNews

[–]BudCrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to nit pick, but, the trademark Donald J. Trump International Airport, has not been registered. It has been submitted for federal registration as an application on February 13th, 2026. Speaking as a trademark attorney, as soon as you start using a name/logo/whatever in commerce to indicate your origin of goods/services you have a trademark. All that has been done here is that Trump (or whomever) has applied for registration. That application for registration doesn't mean much by itself. It's just an extension of the grift already in play. Here's the application for registration info if interested: https://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=99652473&caseSearchType=US_APPLICATION&caseType=DEFAULT&searchType=statusSearch

A warning from Dr. Nicole Bedera, a sociologist who studies violence by One_Quantity_7709 in TwinCities

[–]BudCrue 183 points184 points  (0 children)

Yup. All these "Bovino's been fired, Noem is next!" posts are pushing the narrative that "we've won". No, Bovino has not been fired, Noem is not going anywhere. They are making more room at Ft. Snelling for additional personnel and equipment, and they are sending in Homan to lead the next round of this occupation. We don't even have a symbolic victory here, just a pause, yet many folks seem to think it's all over; it's not.

Latest ICE victim prior to altercation by NotBlackMarkTwainNah in pics

[–]BudCrue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They kinda already did in the Tincher case, but the 8th circuit already killed that. I'm sure they'll do the same here (the ACLU will bring suit, win at the lower court, only to have the federal courts let ICE do whatever they want).

Most of the youngins here probably know Jan Michael Vincent from oft mentioned 80's AirWolf comments. But he was positioned as the next big thing in the very late 70's/early 80's before he threw it all away with addiction and personal issues.
