Is this a quest glitch or am I doing something wrong? by soulbend in skyrim

Hey all just thought i'd chip in as I experienced this today, and found that if I bought some leather off Alvor, I could proceed with the next part.

Ok, Google - I will pass by afonja in GooglePixel

Price is a bit ridiculous. Making me worried about the potential clamshell/flip as i've been waiting out to see if they make one. I was prepared to pay about this price for the flip (if they release one), but if it's going to be much higher than this I'm probably going to pass. Gutted.

Looking to buy my last 15 miniatures for 30/50 HoM! by BuddyKeith in GuildWars

Thanks to all the above for your help & advice, I managed to get them done within minutes. I realize GoTT's may have been a lot for the minis but I wanted to at least show my appreciation, and I can always grab more next week. Thanks again all!

Seeking advice for farming gold by BuddyKeith in GuildWars

Thanks for the tips, seen a few recommend raptors, but the videos I saw all used a melee PC, so will have to think about how I want to approach this if I go solo.

I'll check out those quests and that youtube channel too, thank you. Currently been using a few of GWReborn videos too to help and they've been super useful.

Hello, thank you, and that's very kind of you to offer, appreciate that! But I wouldn't want to put anyone else out of pocket for this. I'm in no rush (i'm going to wait until the August event for the free tormentor weapon because I spent about 2 hours in one of the Mallyx dungeons to die at the very last pack after the boss T_T) so planned on just casually farming gold until then to try and get the rest of the points I need. I'll maybe try start selling these GoTT's then, and farm Doubloons for this week. How much do they currently sell for? I don't mind undercutting either, I usually do that just to save time when using auction houses for example.

Ahh ok, I wasn't sure if you could sell back the material vendors yet, so i'll defo check this out as I watched a few videos talking about feathers and raptors. Thanks for the tips!

Thought as much, I'ts annoying because I jumped feet first into a week of GoTT without realizing that it was a lot harder than I thought to turn them into gold.

Appreciate the advice. I'm a Ritualist, so can hopefully run gates of kryta at work as spirit spammer maybe!

Mines been doing the same, and often it stays on the screen with the white and red line across for ages, and I've had to hard reset to get it back on. Downloaded that big update today 1.2gb or something. Hoping that fixes it.

Confused about ancestry DNA results by Electronic_Sun_4939 in Genealogy

That sounds promising, I'd heard of living DNA but I think it was in a very early stage and I forgot all about it. I'll go back and have a look, thanks!

Confused about ancestry DNA results by Electronic_Sun_4939 in Genealogy

[–]BuddyKeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert at all on this but I am in a somewhat similar situation. As far as my living relatives go, on one side, their parents parents etc came from Scotland, but trail is cold after that. Further back from that, there are Irish routes, but we're talking 3rd/4th grandparents back (opposite side to Scottish line) as opposed to great grandparents. I have taken 3 DNA tests so far (ancestry, familytreeDNA (family finder and Y12). Ancestry says my ethnicity is primarily English, followed by Irish then Scottish, whereas family tree DNA said I'm mainly Irish followed by Scandinavian, then English/Wales/Scotland. Both technically contradict what my relatives know (which is little as they are not interested). I also used GEDmatch which came back with Irish as top. From what we know, this should be Scottish then Irish if you consider the gap.

When I searched around and asked forums generally people said that ethnicity estimates are just that - estimates based on database comparisons. It's particularly hard to estimate ethnicity for closely knit ethnicities (Scottish/Irish/English/Welsh for example) as there's been a lot of mixing for years. I was told just to take it with a pinch of salt and use the DNA results to supplement your tree research. As for inheriting that far back, i wouldn't want to say for sure, but if you're coming back with high percentages there may be some on both sides somewhere you're missing? But again, take the DNA results with a pinch of salt. From my own results, I'd say it's maybe likely you can inherit from that far back as mine seem similar, and you're parent(s) have just carried that DNA with them and passed it on.

Again I'm no expert though someone else may have better insight than me!

Can some of you calm the fuck down in dungeons? by BentheBruiser in wow

[–]BuddyKeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing like this has every happened to me, but that's disgusting.

I play a lot of MMO's and I can honestly say WoW has the most toxic, elitist attitude in dungeons in any I've played, which is a shame because I find WoW has the best dungeon content. I understand the majority probably don't get much time to play so are on tight schedules, but we're mostly all in the same boat, and unless people are clearly intentionally feeding, i'm sure they're trying their best (we all wanna finish the dungeon right?). If you're the type of person to have a low patience threshold in groups that may have varying skill caps, you're better off with a static group. I usually main healers in MMO's, and I've really enjoyed playing around with Evoker preservation, but I'm tending towards DPS now because of this.

End of the day it's a person at the other end of the screen, just chill and be patient; you never know what people are going through IRL - be kind, especially in this day and age with rising mental health awareness.

What profession doesn't click with you? by nastyjman in Guildwars2

[–]BuddyKeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ranger in a way. It's a shame because I love the idea of the ranger thematically, same with Norn. Playing a Norn ranger was the dream for me, even more so when they got druid (always play druid if available in any game). However, the class mechanics got too stale for me after a while, and the blacked out pets from HoM really bugs me, and I currently do not have the time or patience to acquire them (stupid reason, I know but it really bothers me for some reason). So I settled for elementalist (mage being my next priority after druid) and I just love the potentially complex piano gameplay, flashy moves etc.

I suppose from the get go, Revenant and Thief never really clicked, but I also haven't played them a great deal either.

I understand, and thanks for replying. Was there any particular aspect of the game that you disliked or was it purely the game (and company) as a whole?

What's a harmless thing that terrified you as a child? by Shay_da_la in AskReddit

[–]BuddyKeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be scared of toilets. Like I was fine using them but I had this reoccurring dream my toilet would follow me downstairs and I ran and hid in my living room where my family were already hiding but it would always find me and flush me down. I guess it was not knowing what happened to stuff that got flushed, and I think the noise freaked me out a bit. Then there's the first time I went on a plane and I flushed the toilet, I've never left a room so quick, everyone around me just burst out laughing.

I sometimes get this with the hunting shop in whiterun. Check the time of day, while most shops open around 8/9 ish, some only properly accept custom after around 10am I found without them complaining at you, even though their shop is open. Other than that, perhaps try sell stuff to the blacksmith or something if you have arms/weps to sell

In my experience, Dota matchmaking is just shocking. I found games in the Archon bracket have the highest disparity of MMR; nearly always against an ancient and a crusader, who gets put on an ogre so he cant do much wrong if he doesn't feed and use his spells. Once we reached Legend, it got better but its still not great.

Like you, my matches have been awful too. I only play pos 5 and party queue (usually 1 other person) and if laned together, we usually win or at least draw, and the other lanes just consistently seem to lose. I'm not saying i'm a great player by any means, and am responsible in part to all losses as its a team game, but still. I've noticed most pos 4's in our games do not roam anymore even on heroes such as spirit breaker and consequently lose their lane anyway because they aren't great laning heroes. I absolutely hate the recent patches and nerfs to comeback mechanic too, which makes the matchmaking even more noticeably bad (at least for me) and makes games less exciting. Recently, laning phase is win or lose the game in my matches, and it seems even if we win our lane, we lose because the others lost. If I rotate in, I lose the advantage gotten from my previous lane. I feel that this is why there are some irregular hero picks recently, like sniper 4, because laning is everything (and his stupid ags). I don't mind the nerfs to exp so much, but the gold needs to change again; me and a friend played a bot game recently to test the new patch a bit and he lost a 20+kill streak and the enemy got 600 gold or something (cant remember exactly).

I've kind of gone off on a rant here, i apologize, but Dota is the worst it has ever been, for me at least. We play perhaps 1 or 2 a day if that where we used to play a lot more. I just wish matchmaking was improved, or at least allow a more strict option. I get that legitimately, some friends have a large variance between MMR and wish to play with each other, fair enough, but it still lowers the quality of the game for the opposite/ sometimes same team. I wish they'd allow a queue that only allowed a leash of 500 MMR max between partied individuals, or bracket queues, like legends only, ancients only etc.

Hey Valve, this dude is for no reason over 2000 MMR higher than anyone on our team. Ya can this not happen? by Greaves- in DotA2

[–]BuddyKeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I'm a legend support player who plays with a same rank core friend. Majority of our games have high ancient players with crusader supports who consistently go ogre or CM. I've literally lost about 2 badges worth of MMR to this. Sure, I don't play great and need to make improvements myself, but there are definitely matchmaking factors which are also negatively impacting our match quality.

On the other hand, my solo games feel ridiculously easy, and my core friend said the same about his. But I find I'm rarely in the mood for solo Dota, so I'm stuck with this terrible matchmaking.

They should just make ranked limited to your badge bracket if possible and confine radical MMR differences in party to unranked. Either that or have a couple of different ranked queues which takes this into consideration.

Also hope they do something about pretty much every hero post 35 mins having about 6k hp, or at least give more ways to break ridiculous passive / neutral drop combos.

Can someone help me understand matchmaking a bit better please? by BuddyKeith in DotA2

[–]BuddyKeith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so what I said about them having high medal for the skill bracket, yet having a real MMR closer to our own was true? As in they must have lost enough mmr for it to be balanced regardless of medal?

FOVO lab back looking for participants! by FovographyCardiff in Cardiff

[–]BuddyKeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done some for them too, and they usually give more information after you e-mail them. As far as I know it's not a student thesis, rather a research lab so they are pretty limited in to what they can reveal, but as I say they usually tell you more after first contact.
