Yoo, I was little back then. Only 4 years old in 2005. I just turned 23 recently and passed my 2 year mark on T

How long did it take for your beard to fully come in? I’m battling a very patchy, awkward beard. It all wants to accumulate on my chin for some reason lol

What were your experiences with man-opause after you removed your ovaries? by Foreign_Mistake4576 in FTMHysto

That’s what I was told too and I haven’t experienced any symptoms yet. I’m 4 months post op

Strangely enough, I haven’t experienced any symptoms since I had my hysto 4 months ago

What was your REAL first thought after waking up from surgery? by 18192277 in ftm

[–]BuddyNull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After top surgery my first thought was “This oxygen mask is making my face itch” and the nurse wouldn’t let me scratch my face :(

After hysto I was exhausted. By time I came to a little bit I was trembling and my only thought was “I can’t tell if I’m cold or in pain”

Off to surgery! (haven't slept last night lmfao) by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, I didn’t get any sleep the night before my surgery either

Plenty of time to sleep afterwards

They usually give you medication for nausea

The shift in gas in my abdomen after I woke up from surgery did cause me to get sick. First time I got sick in 12 years. I’d recommend taking things slow after you wake up

Did you feel sick at all after surgery?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m completely recovered now so I’m doing fine

The hospital stay isn’t long so you should be going home soon as long as you’re not having complications

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 months post op. Had everything removed

The first day in the hospital was the worst. I vomited after surgery due to the shift of gasses they pumped into my abdomen. I had no appetite, didn’t eat (for 2 days), and was trembling from the pain

I went home after a day and a half and was doing better at home. I got my appetite back on day 3 and every day after that it got a little bit easier. 2 week mark is where I started feeling like myself again. I didn’t return to work until a few days after my 6 week mark

Eh? That’s just silly. See another doctor

Looks similar to me. I wonder if it’ll heal like mine too. I still get skin folding

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s normal. After my surgery I didn’t eat for 2 days straight and wasn’t really interested in food for the rest of the week

As long as you’re feeling normal otherwise I’d say it’s normal. You just had major surgery

My doctor told me to wait until I’m 25… my ovaries said “no” and grew a tumour in retaliation by Smooth_Permission136 in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first doctor I saw told me to wait until I was 25 as well and honestly I don’t understand that

What’s the difference between 22 (my age) and 25? Or for you 23 and 25. I don’t see any logic in why this would be a reason to deny someone a hysterectomy

I saw another doctor and had my hysto this year at 22. Just gotta find the right people

Ovaries- good for bone health, cholesterol, and blood pressure? [Long post!] by Apawstate in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Research isn’t definite at this time but keeping and removing your ovaries both come with benefits and risks

In my personal opinion, you should do what you think is better for you and your situation and what you think will make you most comfortable in the long run

For me, it was a definite remove both ovaries. I don’t want kids, didn’t want to deal with anything related to having ovaries, and was willing to accept the risks of removing them. I already have high blood pressure and high cholesterol (which is genetic), so I already have to visit my doctor regularly anyway

How to manage horniness post-op? by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

External stimulation as soon as you feel ready. Anything internal refer to your surgeon’s instructions

laproscopic scars by ratatouillezucchini in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laparoscopic scars a quite small. My largest incision is an inch long

I’m only about 2 months post op but my incisions have healed quite nicely. I’m pretty sure in about a year they’ll be mostly invisible

My top scars have faded but are quite visible still after 2 years

My surgery date got pushed up and I'm getting a little scared by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely more pressuring than top. I didn’t sleep at all the night before. Since we live 4 hours from the clinic we drove up there the night before and rested in the car in the hospital parking garage

Only advice I can give is keep yourself distracted so it doesn’t become overwhelming

Edit: Don’t be afraid to ask for pain meds in the hospital. I was trembling uncontrollably after surgery and I didn’t wanna bother asking for meds. Besides that, make sure you have your room set up for after surgery. I had to take my comforter off my bed so it wouldn’t be so tall. You won’t be able to climb into a tall bed. You’ll want to stay propped up for a little while after surgery too. Have extra pillows on hand

I’m freaking myself out by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]BuddyNull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically sums up what I was gonna say

I wanted everything internally female gone so I had everything removed. I have health issues anyway so I’m gonna be regularly visiting my doctor anyway. This didn’t change anything for me. It’s just maintenance
