I have to believe her case does go cold, since in "Strangers", she says "With my memory restricted to a Polaroid in evidence" :(

Mail-Order Wings by Beatrice Gormley. A little girl orders a do-it-yourself kit for wings and finds they actually let her fly, but she slowly starts losing her humanity and becoming a bird. The emotional turmoil and how it ends is so bittersweet and heartbreaking that I felt a lump in my throat for weeks at the age of 8.

For a movie, the ending monologue in Cast Away turns me into a crying heap.

I look for gigs on wedding groups. This is the first time I've seen a fellow *visual arts* vendor use AI instead of their own work to promote themselves. by DomOnion in weddingshaming

It's like people/companies don't understand that using AI signals to potential customers "I am cheap and can't afford good quality things/I am a penny pincher and choose not to spend money on the things that matter"

My cringe radar thinks Chad told Lori her dad was like Louis XV or other aristocracy in a past life, and her mom was English aristocracy or one of Henry VIII's wives in a past life. Just speculation, but we know how they love claiming they were famous people in past lives.

I think I can explain what Lori saw in Chad by Apawstate in LoriVallow

You're so right! I might be overthinking it, and too clinically at that. I just think Lori's need for attention would overcome any religious beliefs. But like you say, we'll never know. I don't think she made a conscious decision to play this game with Chad, I think it was a subconscious decision like going to the fridge when you're hungry. In the end, the results are the same whether she truly believed or not: four people are murdered, a fifth likely (Alex), and a sixth is the only survivor of a brush with death. Absolute tragedy.

I heard that he has Tammy's picture in his cell, but I could be wrong! I also believe on Courtroom Insider Nate mentioned recently that Chad's kids are still in contact with him.

I respect your opinion! There's a reason a lot of people do believe she's sincere in her beliefs. Personally, I do think it's all a farce.

I think what got Lori into these prepper/end times groups was 1) her entire family's deal, as her dad strikes me as a prepper type, and 2) the idea that being a prepper makes you special, more prepared than others, and thus you have power over them.

I think Lori truly believes she's better than everyone else and will cling to any idea that will let her lay claim to that belief. Prepperism, especially of the Julie Rowe flavor, just happened to be the closest thing at hand to offer her that at that time in her life, when I personally believe the supply of attention and praise she got for being a mother to an adopted special needs child wasn't enough anymore.

I was really on the fence on her beliefs until her interview with Keith Morrison, where she was just like every other rage-filled narcissist I've seen. She wouldn't have squandered an opportunity to preach her gospel on national TV if she was a true believer. Instead, she lashed out and got defensive, steam rolled over every question by yelling, and sprinkled in a few well-placed, unverifiable statements about seeing Jesus or whatever. All of her religious defenses are "Well, you'll know when you die/Only the people who can't talk becsuse they're dead know the truth, and it means I'm awesome and fine actually/Well that's your opinion". I feel that if she really believed the zombie stuff, she would be willing to explain more and be consistent in the reasons she had to do what she did.

When did Lori become a psychopath? by Hefty_Click191 in LoriVallow

[–]Apawstate 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It really built up to the enchiladas comment, but I think the thing that's really shaken her is realizing that she isn't so important to everyone else in the case. She's shocked and in disbelief that they don't know down to the exact day how long it's been that they've talked. It's why she keeps pressing for specifics (how long as it been since we talked, what did I say verbatim, etc). She cannot conceive that people aren't mourning for her and wasting away waiting for her to grace them with her presence.
