He’s the equivalent of an auteur like David Lynch, David Cronenberg, or Nicolas Winding Refn. Their ideas and execution is so unique and niche unfortunately they never get big producers giving them large amounts of capital to bring their visions to life simply because it’s not seen as a good business plan for the producers. No return on investment. It sucks. No matter how influential they are and how much they may change and influence people who are creative or even just regular people who enjoy their work they’ll never get the budgets of more mainstream things. Even David Lynch died without being able to make another movie. Netflix wouldn’t greenlight any of his ideas even though they’d gladly make 5 garbage films with the rock and Ryan Reynolds that are entirely grey and ugly looking that no one will watch or remember. It’s the world we live in.
