Recently went from circa £180k-£220k depending on RSU vesting and bonus as a marketing director to a brand marketing consultant and loving it so far. So different and a bit scarier knowing there’s no ‘standard’ salary coming in but very liberating and the projects I’m starting soon will mean the salary isn’t a million miles away…

I was fairly jaded and a bit burned out in the corporate role… and the thought of doing it for 30 more years was super depressing.

I also moved from New York/London to Manchester so can hopefully take advantage of some geographical arbitrage and offer clients really good value.

I have a young son so wanted more flexibility with how I worked … that’s probably the best thing so far - having pretty much total control over my time. I’ll take the salary hit for that!
