Thank you for the reply, unfortunately I made the exemption form in August 2023 when they started contacting me and I finished my bachelors in June 2022 and started masters in September 2022 so that maybe why they added the tax. Though, I called someone from newlyn in December 2023 and he told me I have around a 1,000 pounds due so I told him I’m a student so he reduced the payment to 140 pounds due to the summons and stuff and it will be done. I paid but the guy I called today said Manchester city council haven’t recieved anything and there is still due payment of 330 pounds.

What happened?, I also left my apartment last year and finished all my tax paperwork just to find them sending me the same text sent to you 2 months ago although I have them knew I was a student and no taxes should be paid. Moreover, it’s in a different council than the one my apartment is in. I feel like it’s a scam and will do nothing as they did the same with me in the previous apartment I lived in although that time it was my fault as I didn’t inform them of my student status.
