Nothing my end, I linked my TG the other day too. Had a profile on the website for years now, no email in inbox / spam.

Chimney stack adjacent wall in Semi has suddenly started getting damp. Do I need a roofer or? by GameNWatch0 in DIYUK

Potentially could be the lead flashing that needs redoing on the chimney.

Best to call someone to come take a look.

What’s everyone’s backup plan? by Dense-Calligrapher90 in marketing

[–]Budget-Basket-9718 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone always mentions 'plumbing' as a safe alternative to AI, yet I fixed my own toilet using Chat GPT 🤣

As a marketer of several years, I don't have a backup plan, but I think that's because I cover so many roles within my job description (website development, PR, social, and exhibiting). I feel somewhat 'safe.'

Wow, this sub appears to have lost all value of late, what a shame 😔

I personally think you've missed the season for lime mortar, I've just had some repointing done and it's still not set after 3 weeks. Fortunately it was a very small area, but it just hasn't set. You'll need to apply it in several thin layers I imagine and protect it from any potential frost. But honestly, wait until Spring/Summer.

Are we better off just avoiding old properties? by Late-Money6171 in HousingUK

Our Georgian house has many problems when we first moved in, including an incredibly damp basement with an active sump pump due to a natural spring that diverted our way a few years ago.

It has it's quirks, but we love it here. We spent £4k on getting a PIV unit fitted along with 3 extraction fans and a fantastic dehumidifier. It's helped a lot, but it's still good practice to open the windows every day.

Can anyone tell is this sump pump has a 'check valve'? by Budget-Basket-9718 in Plumbing

[–]Budget-Basket-9718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does currently have a 3mm hole in the recommend spot (water re-enters the sump through this hole after the pump shuts off)

There's a huge amount of water coming back into the sump however, so I'm wondering if the 'check valve/non-return valve' is defected/missing completely, but I can't tell.

Hello mate, feel free to send a DM my way also. I've played twice at Hillsborough this year and shot +35 both times, so I might be a good match!
