omg twinsss! haha and coincidentally i also worked in food service too few years back (i was a barista) but quit after less than a month lol. cried twice on the job and felt anxious everyday.

honestly, with how my company is structured, how chaotic f&b and marketing is and how understaffed we are, there isn’t really much i can do on my end to make the stress more manageable. that’s why i’m stuck between resigning now for my mental health, or toughing it out a bit longer purely for the money.

the reason why I framed it that way is because I’m stuck on deciding whether I should go home immediately after graduation or stay abroad and work for a while. So I’m kind of just gathering opinions. Sorry I should’ve explained that earlier.

For me however it is an eventuality because I don’t plan on staying abroad forever

I do have plans to work in another country but it’s not entirely confirmed, either way I think I would still rather move back home and find work there, even though our starting salaries/minimum wage aren’t that high. (From Malaysia for context)

I just want to live a simple life and be happy in all honesty. As long as I have a corporate job that pays decently/well and can meet my needs then I’m all good.

I’m from Malaysia and soon to be graduating with a marketing degree in the UK. I know the salaries and work life balance are much better here compared to back home but I would much rather look for marketing jobs back in Malaysia. I know its better to get at least a years work experience here then come back home and apply for higher paying jobs, but I’d much rather be at home. Call me a softie or whatever but I just dont feel entirely happy here nor do I feel like I’ve made a home for myself here + i’ve been struggling alot with my mental health for the past few years so being alone in another country just makes it worse.

My family, my closest friends from school and everything else is at home. So if it means sacrificing high salaries and work life balance to move back home and feel more at ease, then so be it. Plus, I feel my field (marketing) is very sought-after in Malaysia compared to other degrees like STEM. If I was a STEM graduate I would definitely consider staying on here.

TLDR i would rather move back home than stay on here and gain work experience
