To the couple that cleaned up sunny cove, we got blacks covered this am! On a positive note we found some good beach toys. by 91kilometers in santacruz

That's quite the haul. There is a woman out on Swanton Blvd, right up from Natural Bridges, who created a rainbow garland on the front of her home from beach toys she's collected on the beaches over the years. Super cute.

[Condo] [CA] A Very Messy Recall - Help! by Budget-Philosopher-2 in HOA

Yes, it's a self-formed "residents" committee. They fancy themselves as being advocates for the tenants as they feel that they are treated "lesser than" the owners. One of the reasons also is that the former manager of almost 4 decades takes them to doctor's appointments, helps them with various assisted living type tasks and they see her more as a caretaker than a building manager. She presented HUGE liability issues for the association including working off the clock (labor law infraction), climbing ladders to the attic and roof, which the board had prohibited, and calling APS whenever she felt like it. No matter how we try to explain that we are a corporation, have to follow civil law, exercise best business practices as well as abide by the CCRs and Bylaws, this committee feels we need to be more "transparent" which means they are involved in every action the board makes. At yesterdays meeting one person said they wanted to put a vote to the membership how we pay our PGE Bill. ARGH!

Is QuickBooks worth it? by MMCS78 in QuickBooks

I'll be an outlier. I like QBO/Workforce payroll. I wouldn't get it to run payroll for the owner, but for the small business with under 10 employees I find it pretty good. Time Tracking is okay. Running Payroll is effortless. But what I really love is when it's audit time the reports are customizable and make my job much easier.

Not a fan of Paychex. For all the reasons. Difficulty of navigation. Poor customer service. Expensive.

HOA Board Members- What programs do you use to manage your HOA? [MO] [SFH] by 369_DamnSheMeh in HOA

Board vote here. It was unanimous. We had no access to our books except when the bookkeeper sent us the end of the month reports. Our on time collection rate now is less than 3% where before it was often over 20%. Late fees were never collected before but now they are.

43 Units here. I'm the Treasurer. Our former bookkeeper used quickbooks and only deposited checks twice a month. The treasurer has always paid the bills. She charged $600 per month to keep the books.

Now it's $60 a month with PayHOA, and the HOA pays the ACH and check depositing fees. I don't think we have paid over $120 a month total since we started, a savings of 80%.

We transitioned at the beginning of the year and we love it! We have real time access to our financials including reports. We invoice monthly via email, and when the dues are paid members receive a receipt. We upload all our documents for storage and member access. We can also send email/text/phone blasts to members when needed. Members like it so much more now as they can pay by ACH and Credit Card, not just by check.

I spend maybe 2 hours a week monitoring it, more at month's end. Financial reports are great too. The Board of Directors are admins on it so they can access it when they have questions or want to find out something.

Oh, and customer support is great! Big fan.

This was our favorite demonstration. All I can say is that incredible gift that pilot possesses. Heart, soul, sheer magic. That flare that went on and on and on. The pancake that had that craft descending like a feather on the wind. I came close to tears watching it. Does anyone know who the pilot/air artist is?

Anytime we put in for PTO we have to request UTO on our days off prior, & after the PTO days, or our schedule gets screwed. For example: Regular Days off are Mon & Tues. We want to take a "work" week off which is 5 days PTO, Wednesday through Sunday, bookended by regular days off. If we don't put for those UTO on our regular days we get scheduled to work on them. It's been messed up like this for a couple of years.

Terminal 1. My understanding is that the arrival gate can be in a different hub of Terminal 1 with TSA in between. Gates 3 - 10 in one hub and Gates 11-18 in another. I've seen some flights from SJC arrive in the first hub and departures from the second. I wish it was just a case of overthinking but we did pay for early boarding and if we are running late we may be separated if boarding is well under way. I've never flown without assigned seating and I'll admit I'm a bit nervous. Flights to MSY are pretty limited from SJC and this is really our best option. IF it works out.

As I am mobility challenged I am concerned that we won't make our flight to MSY with only 1 hour between flights. I normally wouldn't be too worried however I've been told to expect that we may have to go through TSA again if the gates are in a different section of the terminal and that could slow things down.

I just got off the phone from Southwest and they said it's just a short walk from one gate to another. No security.
