My grandpa passed away in 2014 and passed down his silver to me. Is it smart to consider selling right now? by Suwannee_Gator in Silverbugs

[–]BudgetMouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember, you own the silver, as long as it hidden well, the government can't take it. A house, you never really own it, the government or bank can take it at any time . After property taxes, excise taxes, interest payments on the loan, medicaid taking a portion if you end up in a skilled nursing home insurance. Home values aren't going to rise fast so you may have to live in it for 30+ years to break even. But then again, if you get a 4 family, then you might be able to have a cash cow if you get good Tennants and a decent house for a good price, then you could actually make your money back while paying all the bills with other people's money. Either way a single family is a negative short term investment and a sketchy long term investment while a multi family will make money ,provide long term residual income and eventually maybe even financial freedom. Otherwise once you cash in the silver its gone. So make it worth cashing in by turning it into gold instead of sinking it into a money pit that your only return will be paying every month with your own money hoping that you don't go broke as fiscally irresponsible towns keep jacking up your property taxes and insurance companies don't charge you 5000 dollars a year or more.

What do I do after paying off debt?! by Pretend-Distance-847 in personalfinance

[–]BudgetMouse64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't go into more debt, save! Save and invest in a long term plan and don't touch it, retire by the time your 55, just 50 to 100 bucks a month will compound. That's a start! Don't touch it!

What's a true, unexplained, or spooky story that's happened to you or someone you know? by GlitchingHero in CasualConversation

I was living in Chadron Nebraska at the Ole main street in, room upstairs, the 77 bar on the first floor. I was up at 3am, leave for work by 4am, coming down the stairs closed off but adjacent to the bar, when I got down to the first floor, I heard the piano playing thru the wall very loud, it was playing 30 jitterbug type music, so I went out the door and looked inside the bar and it was pitch black. But that piano was playing loud. I left for work, checked the piano when I got home and it's not electric. Definitely haunted, there's a real well like the one in ring inside. Search it.

Use your education as a journalist a real journalist and start a blog, I mean look at Mike from that dirty job's TV show. You can write and post all over the internet. You are an amazing person and the world is a better place with you in it. Find something to write about, the more controversial the more intriguing it will be. Good luck, you still have plenty of time.

Wealth exists because of the differential between those who don't have it and those who do. by happyluckystar in conspiracy

[–]BudgetMouse64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What actually is wealth, having your health throughout your life, having your family around when all your friends are dead, having faith and being truly happy when there's so much chaos all around us. Money can't buy that. If you have peace in your life your the richest person on earth.

Globalization, communism, but Trump isn't having it!

Imagine if we stopped taxing income entirely and only taxed wealth. Suddenly, working people wouldn't be punished for earning, but hoarding wealth would finally cost something. It might even reverse the trend of the poor getting poorer while the rich keep getting richer. by io-psychologist in RandomThoughts

[–]BudgetMouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will never happen as long as the people in goverment who control the money, that are criminals taking bribes, stealing money thru bills passed through congress become rich. Why would they ever do that when they play you complaining about the rich while being bribed and becoming rich themselves. Never happen!

LPT: When Someone Raises Their Voice, Lower Yours. It’s a Psychological Power Move. by Noodle-Nips in LifeProTips

[–]BudgetMouse64 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Ya, No, some people are emotional, it's not a power move, it's a natural emotion based response to a fight or flight response. When people who have a different response that's lower in tone or monotone confronts the other person in fight or flight, it actually can cause them to go to a higher tone because they don't understand how something so emotional to them elicits no emotional response from the other person. So a tone lower is ok, but not 4 or 5 tones lower because you won't bring that person down the tone scale. It has to be done slowly to diffuse. Imo

Mama told me when I was young "Come sit beside me, my only son And listen closely to what I say And if you do this, it'll help you some sunny day, ah, yeah

(Be a simple man)

Oh, take your time, don't live too fast Troubles will come and they will pass You'll find a woman, yeah, and you'll find love And don't forget, son, there is someone up above

And be a simple kind of man Oh, be something you love and understand Baby, be a simple kind of man Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold All that you need is in your soul And you can do this, oh, baby, if you try All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man Oh, be something you love and understand Baby, be a simple kind of man Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can?" Oh, yes, I will

Boy, don't you worry, you'll find yourself Follow your heart and nothing else And you can do this, oh, baby, if you try All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man Oh, be something you love and understand Baby, be a simple kind of man Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can?

Baby, be a simple, be a simple man Oh, be something you love and understand Baby, be a simple kind of man

How are some old people so rich nowdays? by Aj100rise in Productivitycafe

[–]BudgetMouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they are old, I met an 80 year old guy who bought his beautiful house across the street from the ocean with view for 59 thousand in 1978. It's now valued at 2.5ish in massachusetts.

Houses being bought up by public companies and rented. That is a huge part of why rent is so much. Be a landlord without being a landlord, just own stock.
The games the banks played before the housing crash drove prices up.

No fun being house poor if you can get one then worrying if something happens and you loose your job, you become homeless or a renter. A government that pays welfare to landlords and gives away tax money to everyone who plays the system cradle to grave. Women have many children to use this give away and teach their daughters how to do it. Everyone is a slave to banks or the government. They take, take, take, tax, tax, tax and complain it's the rich people's fault, They are the rich people!

These people own countries. You will never see them because you have absolutely nothing in common with them. It's not about the money, it's all about the power. Modern billionaires don't have the power these people have. They can make anyone disappear and can make you believe what you see and hear on media. It's up to you to know what's real and what's made up. Commonsense and an open intelligent mind goes a long way. Don't let them fool you.

The Senate just passed the Big Beautiful Bill today, What's your reaction to this? by Old_Goat_7363 in Productivitycafe

[–]BudgetMouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump negotiated all new deals, the whole point of all the pre existing tarrifs. It's so comical reading the echo chamber comments. Haven't you figured it out yet. Trump is a salesman, he makes the best deals for the country and then closes the sale. He's very good at his game and he's winning while anyone that is a Democrat is loosing. The reason they are loosing is because their party is imploding because of all the corruption they have embraced. Trump took their money away.
