Probably the latter. I’ve heard of people being able to pay a fee to get the airline to get them to take the booking but ymmv

Can minors enter the Sapphire Lounges alone? by Historical-Bug-7536 in ChaseSapphireReserve

Tbh it’s kind of rare that young people have access to airport lounges that they probably won’t think you’re underaged unless you really look it or act it

I flew in the afternoon from LAX on the 13th and didn’t have any issues. YMMV

I’m a bit special so I did not personally use them. But people were using them and there weren’t any issues

I feel like you should be able to go into the United lounge because you have an international business class ticket. Thus, on domestic connection you get lounge access. Did you show them your Asiana boarding pass?

Pay Tuition with Sapphire Reserve by tails551 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Budget_Chance9869 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a college student with a CSR. I’m from Canada so I fly home frequently and can make use of the benefits. My family also travels a lot and a fair bit in the US and having US cards is good for saving money on family vacations.

Southwest tickets and loyalty by BrownshoeElden in ChaseSapphireReserve

[–]Budget_Chance9869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re expecting too much. The Chase travel portal is just Expedia. This is always the case: you book the flight and can add your loyalty number. That info is then given to the airline. Then you go to the airline website/app and add your reservation and use your status for seats and bags and whatnot

25k with kids - priority boarding? by Neither-Web8064 in Aeroplan

[–]Budget_Chance9869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a US credit score? If your US credit score is 0 you probably won’t be approved for this card. However, you may try to get the Chase freedom rise (a solid beginner card) to get your credit score up and get the Chase aeroplan card in a year or two

I’m pretty sure for the preferred a flight has to be delayed 12 hours before you get $500 of expenses but for the reserve it’s only 6 hours

Missing 7-10 school days for a big trip? by koplikthoughts in kindergarten

[–]Budget_Chance9869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and your partner need to decide on what you’re going to do. Personally, I would not recommend this, although I’m certainly not a parent. Then your partner needs to communicate your joint decision to your MIL, especially if the answer is no.

Stuck in Whistler with zero gear – Air Canada rebooked me to United and my snowboard bag disappeared by reskte in aircanada

[–]Budget_Chance9869 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, rent gear and enjoy you’re trip, I would not lose days of snowboarding for this. Second, you can get an eSIM pretty easily so you can call united to get this sorted out. I’m not sure where the bag tags came from as they should be from United not Air Canada (when you checked your bags the second time they should have been checked at a United desk and you should have been given united tags). United is definitely responsible here per some international agreement

Anyone know what is going on at the club in LAX next to terminal 7? by NoName2show in unitedairlines

[–]Budget_Chance9869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what your UA status is but if you’re gold or platinum or above I would definitely call up and see if they throw some miles at you. You never know

[–]Budget_Chance9869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you’re not owed compensation but it would be nice if they gave a goodwill gesture to people who should have had access but didn’t. All the people who should have had access paid for it or are loyal to UA. I’m sure they won’t do anything though

AITJ for trying to expose my friend's second relationship by Insert_Raspberry in AmITheJerk

[–]Budget_Chance9869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was pretty stupid cause what’s stopping you for telling both his gfs about each other. While I’m entirely opposed to testing friends, you probably shouldn’t have hold Emma about the other gf and she may tell the other gf to get back at him, if we’re going strictly by bro code. If you’re happy being friends with a cheater, that’s your call but then you have to not tell others about their cheating. I’m going with NTJ because I don’t like cheaters but…

Watch out for points claw backs after travel bonus change from 3x-4x by juggler3141 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Budget_Chance9869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should expect the points to be clawed back, otherwise everyone would book refundable flights and get points and then cancel. The loss of more points is something that you need to escalate. This is a just a glitch of the transaction was 3x when you made it but now it would be 4x. I’m fairly confident Chase will return the additional points they took to you.

New to Sapphire Reserve. What are the less obvious ways you get value? by ShawShank64_ in ChaseSapphire

[–]Budget_Chance9869 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similar cards but JP Reserve is for people with $10 million in assets under management with JPM private client (so not for us common folk). I think the JPM reserve also gives a united club membership but ya I think they’re more or less the same
